If this is true, I fear it means the rumors that the Nexus X will be a 5.9" phablet (rather than 5.2" as other rumors claim) are true. It would make sense for Google to have a "compact" Nexus to compliment the phablet (a la the rumors that Apple will release two different sizes for the iPhone 6).

I really hope the Nexus X will not be a ridiculous phablet.

The only thing is Google has never kept around the previous year's model. That was Apple that did that, not Google.

Every year there are "wishful" rumors. Last year it was "Oh, Google's going to keep the Nexus 4 in production but add LTE because '4.7 inch is perfect'". No, the phone Google releases that year is "perfect", in Google's eyes. Nexus 4 disappeared before the Nexus 5 arrived.

This is one of those rumors I won't believe until I see it.

The purpose of the Nexus smartphones is to influence design and to showcase the newest Android OS. Google doesn't need to keep the Nexus 5 around to do that. It would only distract attention from the Nexus 6 -- probably going to be called the Nexus X for legal reasons.

Skywalker, 03 Sep 2014totally agree. what's the point of having 64GB of space if your phone dies at the end of a mov... morePhones are not just for movies . Not everyone wants all their photo and videos on the cloud. Means you could now have nova 3, asphalt 8, mc4 and 5, nfs mw, gangster Vegas, gta vice, San andreas and Miami all on your phone at same time along with plenty of music, photos and movies. It really is a very good idea. Only problem is Google could shoot themselves in the foot as people may opt for the 64gb n5 instead of n6 if it's cheap enough. As for battery it isn't the worst around at all. Get about 5hours of continuous gaming out of it on shadowgun deadzone which is online multi-player game. My Xperia T could only last 3 hours on that game.

HeavyRazzer, 03 Sep 2014It will be much better to make Nexus 5 with 3000 mAh battery.totally agree. what's the point of having 64GB of space if your phone dies at the end of a movie you just watched on your nexus. You may as well have enough space for just one movie e.g. 8gb

AmateurHistorian, 03 Sep 2014Seems like Google also realized there aren't much improvement on the Android front from 2013 t... moreOr maybe that they realise that the phone specs are still with the general curve of the current phones therefore don't NEED to improve at this point.

Make it 64GB, dual sim and price in between 24-25K. This will eat all the market of S5 & HTC One series.

Will it also be a better front and rare camera? Probably not, but it would be nice.
