140 mm??! It's too big and the battery is too small, esp when it is not removable. I'd rather have the Moto X Gen 1 with a Snapdragon 801, new antenna, 4 microphones, better camera and a BIGGER battery...
I have a moto x. I wanna ask that will I get latest features of touches control and voice command upgraded in my phone 📱???
John N, 06 Sep 2014I think the ppl hating on the battery are ppl who do not know how AMOLED works. But I guess Mo... moreI agree about the dimple. The huge Motorola logo mars what is otherwise a great design. Especially putting it right in the middle of the customizable back. Putting wood or whatever one wants on the back is supposed to be the pinnacle of design elegance, with this phone, and then there's that silvery scab of a logo in the middle of it looking ugly. It's totally overdone and in bad taste, unlike the discreet logo on the original Moto X
Should do really well. With all the accessories and pure android experience
Its so sad. This phone has come so close to being perfect. But Motorola staffed up by not putting a bigger battery and sd slot. Thats just dumb. Unless they come up with 64 gb version and more battery power, this is a big fail! I start to think Sony Z3 is the perfect package after all.
No card slots?
Battery 2300 mH? can it support the overall features of the phone?
aaahhhhh no micro sd slot..... disgusting.... overall features are good.....
I think the ppl hating on the battery are ppl who do not know how AMOLED works. But I guess Motorola could have at least tried to add another extra 200mAh.
I am not worried about the battery at all.
Maybe that MASSIVE UGLY dimple in the back is taking up all the room. STUPID DIMPLE!
Seriously, that new dimple ruins the look of the phone.
The old X was so clean and simple - the black woven material.
Once again customisation is restricted. You cannot customise this hand set if we cannot force a contract on you with one of the listed suppliers. If we cannot sign you up then you can only choose a couple of models. Sorry about that.
Anonymous, 05 Sep 2014Little towards the end..... Does it say that the smartphone will be available for $99.99 ???? Yes. $99 on a 2-yr contract.
james79, 05 Sep 2014Again you talk rubbish. Nexus 4 phone width 68.7 nexus 5 phone width 69.2. Everyone knows nexu... moreThe only thing that is obvious is your ignorance. The Nexus 5 has a taller, but not wider screen than the Nexus 4. The screens are not the same aspect ratio. The end result, because of how Android works, is that the Nexus 5 has fewer density independent pixels (dips), which is different from pixel density (dpi or ppi), and actually displays less information on the screen. Here's an explanation from someone who actually knows what they are talking about (unlike you):
It's also obvious when you hold the two phones side by side and open them to the same web page. You'll see that the Nexus 4 for is showing more text.
james79, 05 Sep 2014Don't talk rubbish. Nexus 5 has 445ppi screen while nexus 4 has only 318ppi. Read reviews and ... moreYou don't understand the difference between density independent pixels (which is how Android determines how information is scaled on the screen) and sheer dpi. Don't confuse your ignorance with thinking someone else is wrong.
Anonymous, 05 Sep 2014What's up with that honking enormous Motorola logo on the back? On any otherwise beautiful pho... moreI didn't like the new logo size/material at first either. But seeing the final product, it does make sense and probably looks better in person. The size matches the diameter of the camera lens and flash for symmetry. The material matches the trim to coordinate with that material.
The dimple being part of a solid back plate is probably not possible with the leather back. Plus it made the wood backs more complicated to manufacture. So having the dimple/logo be a different material that matches the trim makes manufacturing the various back plates easier and cheaper.
