Android has custom ROMs (like Cyanogenmod) that solve that. What did the Lumias stuck in WP7.8 get?
MOBILEMAN, 11 Sep 2014fail...!!! nobody believe in this numbers. I dont know why show this graphic every time..... moreWrong! Window desktop os doesnt have limitations like phones. Windows XP is still very functional for most people. don't like windows 7/8 then people can install linux! Android phones are limited to android, windows phones are limited to WP. Don't compare desktop with phones. Desktop/Laptops are very flexible when it comes to its capabilities
Anonymous, 11 Sep 2014Now, now... That's a lie. How many of the then current Lumias were updated to WP8? And then WP... moreI didnt find fault in what he said. what he said is true. All windows phone 8 devices gets the windows 8.1 update. All Windows phone 7 got updated to the last windows 7 ie. WP 7.8
If you didnt already know Windows Phone 7 = Windows CE. That is same as windows mobile
Windows Phone 8 is based on Windows NT which is a different kernel altogether
This is phone we are talking about not PC where one can just format and install any os. Android fan boys are really dumb!

I feel the issue of fragmentation and it's significance is being blown out of proportion,to my experience, the only Android version that limits your ability to enjoy the day to day functions of your phone is Gingerbread and down,as it may limit download of certain apps and to those doubting the the proportion of kitkat on phones,i say your experience of not knowing many users with kitkat doesn't prove anything, many people i know have phones running on Kitkat and they are not Geeks either..
AnonD-212969, 11 Sep 2014And my Note2 aslo stuck on 4.3Note 2 is on KitKat long ago. If your provider doesn't update you can flash a proper rom with Odin.
I think windows phones are good because all the phones get every update and they are cheap unlike the iphones which gets every updates but very costly...So windows phones may be good option.
nobody believe in this numbers. I dont know why show this graphic every time...
gb its like windows xp (still there...)
ics its like windows vista (:$)
jb like w7
kk like 8 (something nice...but with soo many stupid errors like "micro sd read big mistake")
"The impending launch of Android L will surely alter things in the months beyond."
By alter, they really mean fragment.
It's Galaxy S2,S3 and Note 1
Samsung is too selfish to upgrade them to KK while half of their customers are left behind
I dont believe this most of the phone are more running in Jelly bean because of lack of updates.
