Nokia N97, Samsung Omnia HD, Sony Ericcson Satio - the three flagships of the three biggest mobile makers in the world use SYMBIAN. what a coincidence right? you know nothing about mobiles, iphoneOS is complete GARBAGE to all the high end cell phone users out there.
by the way, an N95 (made years and years ago) had a dual 332mhz with graphic accelerator. nokia is way ahead of apple.
keep living in your fantasy world, nobody but kids want this ipod-for-a-phone.

Remember! previously iPhone or iPod touch is downgrade from 600mhz to 412mhz.... They mention 2x faster! now made me feel like they only clock back to original clocking speed only.
What a crap they release! nothing is NEW of it.

Why does everyone measure a phone effectiveness on a camera? The new camera if you realise does 30FPS video recording, which is as good as a lot of the 8-12 MP camera's out there proving they have a got a fair bit right with the camera. I guarantee you it will take photo's every bit as clear and video's. You fools have also been convinced by marketers at Samsung, SE and Nokia that MP is everything. None of them can come up with anything close to apple's os, ease of use, interface, quick access for data, email, safari and easy application options. Really easy to sync your contacts, constant sofware up dates are given. the main upgrade with this phone is the processing speed and ram more than anything... So guys this is still the best phone and with 3.0 fireware update all the stupid restrictions and missing features will finally be gone. Get over you MP and realise this is the size you can blow up a photo... Your full HD tv... Yeh... The images you see are two MP frames 1920x1080 = 2 073 600... 2MP get it?

The N97 only has a single ARM 400mhz+ cpu and 128mb ram, no hardware graphics accelerator. The iPhone 3GS has 256mb ram, 600mhz+ cpu and a hardware graphics accelerator. The iPhone also has multi-touch which allows you to easily play games, etc. The specs of the iPhone to smart people will totally anialate the N97, not to mention iPhoneOS vs Symbian v5. The iPhoneOS is much better than the Symbian, take a look at the 5800 for example and then compare it to the current iPhone 3G in terms of software.

I just love to see how apple plays with its silly little consumers... iphone 3gs...Lol!! A few little changes trying to catch up with 3 or 4 year old devices with those same specs, and apple fans go bananas... that's funny! lol!!!

had the 1st gen(classic:) i phone- all cracked and good to go- cydia gets me video recorder-with sound and free, mms(swirly-6 bucks) and i have a case that slides a little plastic lens for macro shots-
so No point in getting the new i phone at all- basically- u want a good phone for surfing- get any i phone crack it and play away- as for the 3gs-big let down apple-no change there, 2 to 3 mpix-come onn

I own a iphone 1st generation for almost 2,5 years and i feel totally stupid. THis phone sucks. In all terms. It looks good.... and that´s it! They kept the same bad quality in this 3Gs.... 3G (S)ucks. Nokia will once again be triumphant. They Nokia N97 it´s miles ahead of the "new" Iphone. It´s amazing that Apple didn´t give a Shi T to market. I love the N97 software. That´s whats everyone is looking for... customizations and use a phone as we use a computer.

that's it?? a 3mp camera (low by today's standards) and video recording? THAT's what Apple is touting as the "fastest iPhone yet"? that's hilarious. and yet i bet the cellphone market will eat this all up, seeing as how it's Apple and all--completely ignoring the fact that there are better phones out there, like the SE Satio and the Omnia HD.

Apple seems to have run out of fresh ideas to add on their mobile phone. While all Apple's competitors, like Nokia and Ericsson, are competing on their grounds to bring the highest pixels to their consumers. Apple is proudly announcing their 3mp camera. Not mentioning Samsung phones that currently has 12mp on their Mobile phones.
I am nothing against with the maker of Iphone 3GS but I think, It would be best for them to think more mind blowing features that they can add to their phones.

the only 2 things I really like about the "upgrades" are the higher MP cam (but the current 3G cam is good enough) and the supposed longer battery life. then again, there's not much difference.
