Bleh......i'd rather Keep my Ipod-Touch...
No Seriously Man!!!!!!
nXt thing you know..the Software of the 3G S will be Available on Itunes...
MAN They could AT LEAST have made it as Slim as the Ipod-Touch Keeping the Exact same stuff on it..
on the other hand, that chrome is cheap, and i think it should Die!

Apple is lucky their software and OS is so good. Poor effort, spent half the time promoting a remote security thing if you lose your phone!!! WTF ps where is radio???? every phone has it!!!
C- .....could do better
An upgrade from a weak camera to a marginally less weak camera.
No exterior changes (a matt back at the least would have been nice).
I was gonna get the new iphone, however looking at what apple are offering. Im not gonna bother, a wasted oppertunity to make some real improvments on a device that really needed freshening up a little.
iphone 3GPS for 199 USD
tats so cheap.
I used to buy iphone 3G in my country for about 500USD and now its 99USD.
I was looking forward to today, but I am really dissapointed. I am not wasting another cent on a iphone. Every time we fork out thousands of Rands for minor updates. Most of the features have been available on other phones for some time. To think only 3megapixel camera, where SonyEricsson are heading to 12meg already. Three megapixel is so 2007. This is a sad day for apple!I think the reason why they are selling the 3G at a reduced price is to make up for lost sales due to this new sorry outdated model.
With the torrent of Smart Phones being released and leaked this summer, I don't think this new version will stand a chance! I mean people will upgrade to OS 3.0 for sure. But buy this? Maybe those who were considering buying an iPod Touch 32GB will get it for a cheaper price (it's not really cheaper if you take into consideration the contract I know) and get the extra phone and GPS functions. I don't think though that TomTom is going to sell that navigation App for a low price; Smart Phones are already eating at its standalone devices revenues.
Probably the beginning of the end for Iphone......it was all just a hype...what a pity.
The newest phones from HTC (Android, and even windows mobile)are more promissing than the now-called hype Iphone...
apple is starting to fall behind in the specs big time, most other phones are getting OLED screens, have radio good cameras (not that thats real important) it appears apple is trying to ride on firmware updates and a good app store. Cant see any point in upgrading im sorry... all the upgrades are firmware based. Hopefully apples sales keep falling and they wake up for 2010.
Who remembers Motorola and the way they tried to stretch the Razr phone with multiple almost identical phones???. I fear Apple is going to sink into oblivion with this strategy, but they know that they have fanboys to count on, who will swallow every word from Apple hook, line and sinker without thinking... ayas!!!!!!!!!!
"Has amazing features:
- brand new camera Now features 3MP auto-focus camera.
- Developers can take advantage of the camera too. But the best thing is - it also captures video.
- voice control."
i loled so hard. its like the presentation of an phone back in 2006-2007.
an also the new os allows you to send mms and use copy/paste/cut.
why dont they wake up and do the right thing with this phone. put a secondary camera, a flsh for the primary camera.
my nokia 6600 had better features.
cut/copy and paste
better cam with video recording
bluetooth pairing (to other phones besides iphone as well???)
no flash support for web browser
idk if bluetooth can send and receive files
this time apple listened to ppl and got some of the stuff iphone shud hv come with in d 1st place. i mean the features they added r not revolutionary, had they added them b4, iphone wud hv been an even gr8er success.
How does an economic crisis hinder a company from designing new form factors in phones? I think Apple went a step too far today, whereas Average Joe bought the iPhone and iPhone 3G because they looked new and stood out, now everyone is going to see that this phone is exactly the same. I see a huge drop in sales for the 3Gs...no wonder the 3G is now $99...they're going to need it.
Even the find my iPhone feature was developed years ago for the Windows Mobile 6.1 platform. A free application called remote tracker is capable of carrying out similar tasks through SMS text messages. However, this requires the presence of your original SIM card, as you send the SMS to your number, in the SIM card slot to do it. If Apple's feature uses the Internet or the cellular phone data to locate the device by its ID/serial number, then definitely it is a few steps ahead than Remote Tracker. There might be other Windows Mobile Applications out there that I don’t know about, which are capable of getting that job done. And I guess Microsoft My Mobile has that too, I don’t know for sure though.
It's nice to see the improvements, I watched the keynote live..zoopercool..little disapointed it looks same as 3G..oh well I guess is the crisis..Apple rulz!
iPhone 3G S is indeeed a good phone but it really makes u think twice whether should u trade in ur 3G version for it or not. Not much upgrade done on the hardware and its the same design.
I just got that it's a little different :(
Apple and Microsoft are becoming more alike.
