DaXiong, 12 Sep 2014Lenovo updated several of their phones with MT6589 and the same amount of ROM and RAM to Kitka... moreNope, the chipset used on Xperia C is probably different from the Lenovo used ~
And the Lenovo phone that used the same chipset as Xperia C is only a few like Lenovo S820 ,and S750 ~
Other than that Lenovo no device using the same chipset as Xperia C ~
Anonym, 12 Sep 2014And is also the only brand that states in their official support page a future update to 4.4 (... moreIt is listed, but it get quickly changed to under-investigation.
The main reason is the driver side ~
The chipset used on Xperia SP is really unique, if u do some research on wikipedia, you probably come to conclusion that Xperia SP is the only Android device that using the chipset, and if u said that it is using the same chipset as Moto X, then you are wrong ~
The chipset code for Moto X is MSM8960DT and Xperia SP is MSM8960T ~

I guess you should said that one to all Samsung low-budget device, that get no update at all ~
I guess you only just want to say this one dont you ?
Sony device is not much models, but that donesnt mean they have the job to update the device, as it low-budget.At least all Sony Xperia 2013 devices got 4.2 update, which Samsung low-budget device launched time version.
Big corps never learn. They failed at the laptop market (And they failed horribly numerous other times in the past) and now they are ready for their next fail.

AnonD-247832, 12 Sep 2014Nexus, Motorola, LG. after 2 year of support, there are community that can make more custom rom.Agreed,Ive been using Android L since the first week of July on my LG Nexus-5..Yet most of the phones that came out the same as the N5 dont even have KitKat yet..Muahahahaha..Buy Nexus people and stop complaining about no updates!!!
It's just that time of the year for Sony.
All I have to say is you were all warned, yet you chose to buy Sony and be screwed just like everyone else was before you (they did try to warn you!).
You call sony a smartphone brand still? hmm...im impressed they made it this far..but say sayonara sony, motorola, oneplus, and xioami are taking not only the spotlight with smartfones better than your'e flagship at prices cheaper than your mid-ranged to entry level phone! HAH, weird brand...Xperia C mightve saved you guys...
Npal, 12 Sep 2014Sony Brand is hopeless for costmers.....I recently found a lot of internet users saying all these crap things ~
But do u ever do research on other brands than Sony ?
And Sony probably is the only brand that provide update for low-end and mid-low end device ~
DaXiong, 12 Sep 2014Lenovo updated several of their phones with MT6589 and the same amount of ROM and RAM to Kitka... moreYea but surely Sony puts much more bloatware so probably there will be no room for their rom. Which, of course, is not an excuse, especially considering the fact that they don't put more memory deliberately (It's not like 1gb or so will affect the price).
XX, 12 Sep 2014Unlike Xperia SP (which really disappointed me because of no KitKat news), Sony already stated... moreLenovo updated several of their phones with MT6589 and the same amount of ROM and RAM to Kitkat. So it's just an excuse...
