The sales-reptile at their Caernarfon store once contacted Vodafone and pretended to be me, changing my password in the process. They did this so they could give an upgrade date and quote for a renewal to my 15 year old daughter who had called in to ask if she was eligible for a contract at 15!!!!!! With hindsight I should have taken the matter further.
I'm not surprised, as sales staff for o2, I found most of the problems were around P4U connections....
J, 15 Sep 2014my handset is in there repair shop greatwell that's gone lool
i understand the anger of some of the phones4u staff at the networks because they were dropped by networks, but obviously there is reasoning behind this. as a sales advisor for a network i have had to deal with problems left by phones4u on many occasions, mainly new agreements set on customers accounts or mis-selling price plans. it was inevitable that one day the networks would pull out and phones4u were aware that this could happen. sorry for their staff who did the job correctly but as a whole will be glad to see them go.
working in the mobile industry. its not nice to lose your job. but phones4u cant blame EE. The i think the high street will go. Is Network stores. and not sell through third parties.
Would not surprise if the same thing happens to carphone warehouse.
Harsh but true.
hahahahahaha to be honest i hate phones4u by far the worst company for phones ever hard selling dodgy dealings. I do feel sorry for the staff in a sense that they will possibly lose their jobs i dont wish that on anyone but they are awful but in fairness EE are not that good either
well this is what happens when you miss sell for years I'm sure carphone warehouse will be delighted
Feel sorry for those people losing their jobs but phones 4u is a very poor phone retailer. And everytime i have been or been in with other people i have always found the service to be poor and knowledge is very limited. Even thiufh mostnof the guys in EVERY store like to work with posh suits and slick style they are basically clueless. That being said this is not EVERY person but the majority of people in most of their stores. Good riddance really!!!
i bought a note 2 from p4u told i would be charged £10 a month less from month 12 onwards,at 12 months i contaced vodafone who said theres no deals like that so i called p4u and lo and behold no record of this deal so i paid £120 more than i should, dodgy selling like this gets remembered...
Never goos to see another company dissapear from the high street. Although I agree with alot of the comments on this page regarding the awful experiences with P4U we need to remember that this will effect 1000's of staff and their families.
There is obviously a reason that all the networks have left phones 4u. dodgy mis selling deals
good riddance. An advisor in p4u in Bury, Manchester was once on the phone swearing to an advisor of a network company. Awful nazi like company.
To be honest as a worker for an upgrade team that dealt with endless number off dodgy dealings from p4u its a wonder they got as long a run at it that they did..im personally glad they crumbled and feel sorry for the workforce
Tough times, although from the perspective of a Retention agent in the UK mobile industry I cannot say I'm not glad one less dealer is on the market - my experience of them offering cut price deals and providing customers credits to buy out existing contracts from competitors was awful for us. I hope all the staff manage to source a new role asap, I just hope another dealer doesn't appear from this. I won't miss some cunning store agents calling in, pretending to be the customer and objecting to being offered any counter offers on behalf of the customer (thus detrimental to the consumer!). Good luck to you all though
A shrewd move by EE but a poor one for the consumer. If you compared the direct tarriffs EE offered with the EE tariffs you could get through Phones4u , the Phones4u ones were always about £5-10 per month less for the same plan benefits and same phone. Basically you would think going direct would get you a better deal but its the converse to this. Phones4u were always cmassively cheaper on a like for like basis. Long term cost for the consumer will indeed be higher with them out of the market. I
I worked for the Company,
Was constantly treated like shit, saw two of my managers leave because they wound not bow down to the power from above to be more hard line with their staff despite us being the best selling store in the Avon area.
Constantly screwed for our commission as they would move the goal posts mid month because we were going to make too much in commission. All people who still (well not for long) work their, count your hidden blessings unless your the type who lives from month to month on the bread line because you were to silly to put some into savings. Cant say Ill miss the chain, its owner is a horrible man.
I want to know the fate of the white Lumia 930, was going to go and get one next month for my birthday! They had an exclusivity deal on it - and a lot of other exclusives too. Will these handsets now be available elsewhere?
