xpiid, 29 Sep 2014This phone is targeted for a very niche market. BB may only sell this model like 10K to 50K.When the company's struggling to just float-niche market target and such steep pricing would do nothing more good then sinking the ship...!!
Blackberry yet again has proved a disaster by pricing it for 50k,Been through time when bought z10 for 44k and now its selling for 16k.... Blaackberry yet disappoints again......with its pricing for India
Stop cribbing about the price. If you find it expensive, you're probably not a business owner or a c-level executive. So you're not the target audience, and you don't have to buy it. Chill yo
Blackberry are renowned for getting there pricing wrong and they have once again, I like this Passport but will not buy until the prices dip, cannot justify paying that sort of money for what it is.
This ain't made for run off the mill users, but very specific business niche. and it will sell.
Don't be surprised if you see one in the hands of Obama and/or other famous ppl.
Also India is a huge market and while 70% or so of the population is poor, there are lots of ppl who can afford this and probably that's the idea of BB.
If they get number of customers same as the amount, I'd be impressed....ain't no one buying this shit man...
LOL!!!! Whatta joke with the pricing??? Are BB guys really crazy and out of mind?? 50k??? ROFL
State of the art new age phone , simply amazing . Just wished it was in the range of 40k max.
Well let's hope it drops to this price in a few months I guess....went over the whole specs over an hour of video demo , couldn't believe blackberry would come out with some thing so amazing...
epic failure ... prize is too high plus there will be not much second hand value for this device after few months ...
This phone is targeted for a very niche market.

Guys this is a *Blackberry*, their target market includes GM's, executives/managers with high paying jobs and the President of the United States. I don't think the price is that big of an issue for the people they are targeting.
If you think this phone is expensive then you are not their target market. You're not an executive, get over it.
If it's sold in Indonesia for $720, it will sale like hot cake. It's like so cheap, even the S5 is still at around $700 here.
Steep price indeed.... Price around 35k can make it a Good Deal and BB can hope for sales records rise.... Samsung already getting in line by launching Galaxy Grand Prime for 15k. Bringing fight in mid section. Its a good Dual sim 3G phone for 15k with specs like Kitkat, 5 inch qHD screen, 1GB Ram, 1.2 GHz QC 400 Quad Core, 8GB inbuilt memory, 8mp rear cam with 5mp for selfies, big 2600 mAh Battery....
Hope, BB think about pricing and take the right step in time.
Joy, 29 Sep 2014This could have been game changer if only they would have considered correct pricing . Conside... moreSpeak for yourself, but there are more than enough people with money in China to buy up any premium phone that crosses the border -- this one included.
I am heavy blackberry fan and spend 43K on Z10 and now wont be able to spend 50K for passport.
Blackberry should have worked on prices for Indian customers. for USA it is $600 and for India Rupees 50 K.
Very disappointing :(
Expected the price to be between 34k and 40k...This is simply too much for what it offers...I don't think any normal users will be tempted to buy it as there are plenty of other phones in this range which might provide a better value for money...
Then again, this pricing might show that blackberry is only targeting a particular niche of people who is not price conscious...who wants a blackberry device at any cost...
