If only this was the next Nexus, and not the Shamu oversized phablet...
This spec war is turning into a pissing contest. Qhd is so unnecessary.
Most people hold their phones atleast a feet away from their eyes and there is absolutely no way you can tell individual pixels on a 1080p 5 inch display at that distance.
How about they focus on optimization and not requiring a 2.65 ghz cpu/3gb and the heat/battery drain it generates rather than just bumping up the specs with no plan.
qhd display is over kill for the screen size thats why motorola chose to have a 1080p panel for their moto x 2014 but you got to remember they make the droid branded specifications as told by verizon, its their marketing that sells handsets and gives them network boost over others.
That carbon-fiber look doesn't appeal to me at all. I'm finding the regular Moto X to be much more appealing from a design standpoint. If this is the future of the
"Droid" branding, I don't think there's a bright outlook.
Anonymous, 29 Sep 2014Great specifications, save for the QHD display. Seriously, is it really needed at 5.2"? I... moreAgree!
QHD is another cool spec list to have, but its not neccesary. Just a smartphone with nice design and large capacity battery is all i wanted.
But its nice to see that moto is back on track. Go moto!
Great specifications, although, yes, QHD isn't necessary at all. 400 PPI or over is enough for me.
