RejZoR, 30 Sep 2014I'm not supporting EU because it's Apple, i'm supporting EU because i hate seeing mega big cor... moreThis is EU, startups get all kind of aid and tax refunds and funds all the time, you should rather worry about the billions that are thrown into those doomed ideas. Like, farmers wife want to do Tarot card reading/fortunetelling as side income: Ok, heres 50,000 Euro and 200% tax refund on investments (deck of cards, only 10,000 Euro). Its madness, and benefits no one but this farm, cant say the same about Apple and Intels business in Ireland now can you?
Hesht, 30 Sep 2014It had to be Ireland, of all places, it just had to be. We scream of this kind of corruption. ... moreSo you dont want the big companies around? Do you want Intel gone from Ireland also? So you can all go back to hearding goats and sheep and not be disturbed by corrupt big companies that has created Irelands growth?
I think Ireland need to stay friends with the big companies, you dont have to go too many years back in time to find critics who didnt even want Ireland to be a member of the EU because of its horrible financial situation, the rest of the EU transferred huge amounts to make your outpost survive and if the Irish government had to "help" big corporations to get established there then i say it was successful, and i hope the people of Ireland doesnt wannna go back to beg from the rest of EU instead of helping their own luck.
Paximon, 30 Sep 2014Was it "granting tax aids" or Apple took care of a few officials?Pretty sure its the latter.
It had to be Ireland, of all places, it just had to be. We scream of this kind of corruption. Wouldn't be surprised if it turns out there are more of these deals going on to keep big companies here.
Hopefully this will shake APPLE STOCK even more! Apple dont play nice, they should suffer for what they do to the Irish people.. under the illusion that they provide jobs when they are really scam artists.
I'm not supporting EU because it's Apple, i'm supporting EU because i hate seeing mega big corporations always having the upper hand at everything and new startups have to deal with idiotic taxes, high costs and all sorts of other bullshit, just because they have no chance at cherry picking countries and channelin profits through them. And same applies to so many other things. So yeah, show them hell EU. It's what luckily separates us from the US. Even if that sometimes means seemingly crazy and lenghty efforts to resolve something.
I hope the EU succeed in forcing Apple to pay a penalty & also succeed in exposing the corruption that took place.
There is mass collusion between Ireland and Apple.
EU will expose this relationship vehemently.
The Irish government is completely corrupt. They keep on introducing new taxes for regular people but wont manage the highest earners... For regular people they have implemented USC Charge, attempting water tax, introduced schemes so companies don't have to pay workers and just use social welfare payments. They bailed out Bankers and construction firms alike with no trial like any decent country would do and try to hide it from the rest of Europe (there have been recordings or politicians joking about this) They threaten to cancel investigations if there are riots. People riot and they hide it from state television and continue to lie. They sell off Ireland's raw resources and have a pub with subsidized alcohol for politicians who are some of the best paid people in Ireland.. Thank God there are independents and Sinn Feinn getting more and more support. Ireland is a complete joke at the moment.
