If that weren't bad enough, many offer more features, too. Launching an app on the iPhone and then doing the same on the Android feels like returning to a land where aesthetics and design are afterthoughts. I understand why the compromises have been made -- too many screen sizes, too many resolutions, too many devices to optimize for all -- but it's still disappointing to see.
Anonymous, 07 Oct 2014Meanwhile the S3 has been upgraded to the latest version of Android and it makes it run great.... moreOnly s3 neo is updated to kitkat, not the original s3. And s3 is more laggy than iphone 4 in iOS 7. Atleast update for iphone 4, 4s, 5, 5s are official retaining an improving its core functionality. While rooting your android cracks it down, some functionality do not work like camera, bluetooth, wifi, etc. and not all user are able to root. Going to setting and run OTA update is miles more convenient to all user.
Bragging android L which isnt finalized yet, S3 on android L? Samsung hasnt confirmed its support yet! Most probably its support is left in dust also.
IOS8 is not all it's cracked up to be. Since downloading it on my iPad, every time I want to look at CCN, Facebook or any other app for that matter, I have to shut down my iPad and restart it. Nice job Apple!! NOT!!
Anonymous, 07 Oct 2014And you must not understand the difference between real life performance and benchmark scores.... moreYeah, see comparison in real life. Search in youtube iPhone 6, S5, and One M8 pit each others loading times in running same apps at the same time. See which is the fastest. Android lags behind.

Android crashes also, even those high ends as much more those low ends and ohh, there is no low ends in iOS, everything is premium. Which does not negate the fact that even though makes all these claims about ios being so well supremely coded and optimized and apps being so high quality and everything being so supposedly stable.
IOS apps crash even now as much as Android 2.3 Gingerbread did.
And back during android gingerbread....ios app crashes were a night mare...especially ios 5 actually.

And it's easier to upgrade a bar bone featureless pretend os compare to a full fledged os that actually has functions and coding to change.
And wow. Yeah the 4 got upgraded to 7 which makes it buggy laggy and freeze.
The 4s 5 and 5s on 8 is very buggy and freezing. And the 6 too. Just better hardware.
STILL tons of bugs lags and freezing with nothing to show for it.
Where as kitkat has added more function on top of Android already being light years more functional than ios and actually made all the devices run even better.
And android L is improving this further.
Android keeps getting better while IOS is declining.
And on top of that you can easily root and rom almost any Droid. So if the S3 met its end with kitkat. .. which would still mean it went through loads more real updating than the 4/4s/5/5s has. ... you can just get a Android L rom on it soon.
And you can even install Android Jelly bean on the first Android phone. HTC Dream G1.They probably have or are working on a kitkat or L for it since they run lighter than jelly bean.

If it is version fragmentation (which is what most people refer to) then that's not really the proper excuse, as Android has compatibility libraries that backport the features of higher API levels to older versions of Android (sounds nice but it can be a PITA).
If you are referring to the wildly different devices with wildly different displays that have crazy different resolutions at completely different sizes then do be aware this is something which Android handles BRILLIANTLY (while Apple is definitely trailing behind).
Nevertheless your complaint seems to be more related to the visual design of the actual system (and the way their controls are shown) than anything else.
It's a matter of taste, I for once am not too crazy of having buttons that look like labels with blue text... and I know I wasn't the only one with that "complaint".

I am very happy with my iPhone 6, thank you. Best phone I have ever had and my return to iOS phone for the first time in two years.
My Xperia Z2 just sold and while it was a nice phone, I am not going to miss it :)))

And by the way, no ones gonna answer your "2011 specs stuff" because your andoid are just bragging specs sheet and not in real life performance, yeah maybe 2011 specs but performs better than 2014 androids.
Most of the iPhone 6 and 6+ sales are going to scalpers trying to profit off of the low supply otherwise no one is interested in what's equivalent to 2011 Android specs.
