#1 has to spend huge amounts of money developing technology from scratch. When it finally gets through the painful process of making it work for the first time (which is much harder than after seeing a working implementation) it now has to spend vast amounts of money and time convincing costumers to buy that new technology.
#2 spends little money (copies) and its costumers are already aware of that new technology advantages (#1 spend all the money making them aware).
And no, in case you are wondering Apple is not the #1 here. Look at history and see many other manufacturers playing #1 only to then come Apple as #2 and reap all the benefits. NFC and TouchID are just some recent examples of this.
Anonymous, 09 Oct 2014Exactly!If Samsung stop copying their main competitor apple's products and spend more time on innovating and enhancing their own engineering strengths. They would be far better off today. They are a dynamic forward looking company and they don't need to copy. Their image because of their stealing apple's style and technology is in taters. And they will continue to sink until they can promote and demonstrate their own engineering innovation.
django, 07 Oct 2014lol.. exiting android and moving to tizen is a suicide..
samsung is still the leader of and... morehaha, this will be my strategy if i'm samsung CEO.
since tizen has created, it juz a waste if its not fully implement. some more, tizen has more open source than droids. therefore i sure tizen is the best for samsung, such like symbian for nokia & sailfish for jolla!
Sales increase but profit decrease that is great because Samsung is not cheating like Apple in price. Look iphone's bills of materials BOM is much less than Samsung galaxy devices ($199 was for 5s while $255 for s5 ). But you know the retail prices of them. You know what innovative they are by comparison of apple old lcd display and Samsung super AMOLED display and so on.
60% collapse is massive. Great news. :) All the benchmark cheating, copycat desigms, trolling the competition, and insulting commercials are coming back to bite Samesung.
Anonymous, 07 Oct 2014This is good news for customers because increasing on sale but decreasing profit means Samsung... morewhat you say is wrong. Do read the statement again. Yes, sale increase...but decrease in profit is not because they sell the product cheap.. the buyer still have to spend more to buy. the only reason the profit is drop is because they spend too much money in marketing and advertisement hence result in less profit. In theory, in order for them to pull back the profit.. they might increase their product price, hence the phone will be more expensive.. this is not good to us buyer. not the other way round.
plum-x, 08 Oct 2014Apple troll everywhere ! lolllBefore that.. there were Samsung trolls :P

I have had 3 Galaxies so far that I kept for a while. I returned the GS5, beca... moreMishaps happen to every device. The same thing could be said about others.
It happens to be a more uniform experience with ios rather than mishap though.
Dododo, 08 Oct 2014Yes :) I do have the iPhone 6 Plus. It's huge, but still manageable. If the 4.7" had OIS ... moreLmfao. So in other words you did not have a Z2. IPhone 6 with crashy buggy laggy ios 8 beats z2 in user experience and camera?
mixa, 07 Oct 2014This is one of the biggest problems and many ppl still don't get it.QHD is very taxing on both... moreExcept this 5.7inch QHD Amoled display uses up to 40% less power than 5 inch 1080p LCD's.
And we've already seen that on the S5 LTE-A that it ran overall smoother and better with QHD on the S805 than the 1080p did on S801.
And this time the S805 is clocked slightly higher. And the Exynos version is even stronger than that.
So on technicality cpu/gpu/battery strain could have been better with 1080p yes.
But the Note 4 handles it very well and it's no where near as bad as people are complaining.
Now in the case of the G3 that wasa different story. It used an S801 which struggles a lot more and they had to destroy display brightness and calibration to counteract them keeping the same size battery as the G2.

The innovation of the s-pen no? The vrm no? Hrm? Front camera panorama no? The best display on a smart ohone evere (note 4) no? Then tell me. Who the fuck is innovating more than Samsung?

You claim it was so horrible, but it was among the few phones of that Era to make it to kitkat. And did so in a time frame equivalent to flagships from the following year.
Anonymous, 07 Oct 2014The only good thing in the Note 4 is the Optical Image Stabilization and the newest SOC.
Th... moreGood for you. While you're on the Internet claiming that the notes best mobile display is a bad useless gimmick and that it's ois and SoC are the only good points....
The rest of the world be enjoying as it is the most advanced device available.
AdamBoy64, 07 Oct 2014Neat. Mind if I ask if you've got it (the iPhone 6+) in a case? Just wondering.I misunderstood your question. Yes, the iPhone Plus is in a case, a cheap Sigen Air cushion which is very thin.

Just wondering.Yes :) I do have the iPhone 6 Plus. It's huge, but still manageable. If the 4.7" had OIS I probably would have gone for it instead. Really love the camera and the fingerprint sensor works surprisingly well. Can't wait to be able to leave my wallet at home when the NFC payment platform is unveiled in a couple of weeks.
It replaced an Xperia Z2 which I sold. I liked the Xperia but the 6 Plus is a definite step up in user experience and definitely in the camera department.
