Very good decision, we can save our plannet this way thinkings and modification.
Many things we need standardization for all the world not only Europa.
Save our plannet all the ways
gsmarena.com should add the "charger type" , in there specifications/features of phone, for potential buyers to have an option of choosing a phone with same charger socket.
why do we need wires? why don't you think about that
you going to transfer electricity? magic?
dumb!
Mel Chan, 01 Jul 2009hi, i use the HTC diamond and the normal micro/mini USB cable, it works despite the socket is ... moreI have HTC Touch Pro. The Mini-USB works for charging and syncing. The same port can be used with HTC accessories for headsets, etc., which do not use Mini-USB.

But why "micro" USB? Is the "mini" (like n6300)USB really too big ? It's more common (cameras, mp3, etc.).
gredy, 30 Jun 2009Good pm people,Can You please produced Wi-fi and blue tooth capability chargerWI-FI or Blue-tooth Charger ? I though the technology was abandon a few decades back due to impracticality. If there is something/device that allow people to charge their phone over the radio waves. They should be awarded with the highest award available. May be go to Heaven straight (God permit).
[deleted post]hi, i use the HTC diamond and the normal micro/mini USB cable, it works despite the socket is a proprietary HTC USB.
But to qualify, I have use it for charging and drive download, have not used for sync-ing though...
Anonymous, 30 Jun 2009all good ideas, but not everyone has the net at home!Maybe not now, but I'm looking 5-10 yrs ahead and esp at populated countries/cities.
I would also suspect that by that time, most villages would have some form of net access either by a internet shop and prob surfing on via a sim card either on the phone or laptop/pc would be much more manageable in cost and speed-wise then..
and of course, economics always play a part in this.. 80-20 rules... 80% of income always comes from 20% of the population/geo areas..
makes sense? ;)
i've already seen mobile phones adopted MINIusb as default charging socket like motorola, nokia and HTC. Really helpful.
cane, 30 Jun 2009motorola use mini usb, not micro usbMotorola uses BOTH mini-USB and micro-USB charger plug. Newer phones like U9/V8/V9/Q9h/E8/EM35/A3100 etc...all use MICRO-USB charger plug, while "older" phones like E680/V3 series/E6/K1/K3/Z8and even some latest "low end" phones like EM330 use MINI-USB
If you still can't tell the difference, suggest you go to a phone shop and ask the salesperson to get you some REAL phones and note the differences.
cane, 30 Jun 2009motorola use mini usb, not micro usbMotorola started using micro USB a few years ago.

cane, 30 Jun 2009motorola use mini usb, not micro usbThank you MOTOROLA for leading the way! Motorola was the one who 1st used the mini USB, and from the ROKR E8 onwards, still the 1st to use the micro USB.
Everyone is playing catch-up again!
