This is so good, places like airports now can have mobile charging stations, some do already but always your phone isn't compatable, hotels can also have the standard micro USB

Charger portability will be a great relief to many I believe. People will surely enjoy one-to-many relationship in mobile charging :)
I personally have adopted this standard long ago, with a USB socket charger and adapters for all kind of phones.

strongly welcome the initiative ,adding on i would suggest that the customers should be able to choose if they want an accessory or not in result reducing the price of the phone they are purchasing now that would be an initiative for the manufacturers to take,nevertheless brilliant decision and jobs a good one for eu and manufacturers.
Its good that it is a micro usb because its not proprietary
common sense has prevailed, if the manufacturers are producing handsets charged by micro usb for the e.u. market, then hopefully this will filter through to the rest of the markets.
