We're fascinated by the intricate camera hardware, inside the Galaxy S20 Ultra (as our very long and detailed review shows) and relish the chance to see it up close and disassembled, thanks to the team at iFixit.
The teardown tells the usual affair of glued together panels, heat guns, pry tools and patient work. Skipping over to the interesting bits, here are the Galaxy S20 Ultra's cameras.
The most interesting are the 108MP Nonacell sensor, which is huge, and the periscope chamber which has a prism that reflects through a moving lens array to a sensor placed perpendicular to the phone.
Here are the four sensors as well as the periscope array
You can see the movement of the periscope array in the video below, as well as the entire teardown.
And if you want to see the samples from the Galaxy S20 Ultra - you can find them, in our review.
Huge difference between Samsung catching up to Huawei and Apple catching up to Android manufacturers. Since Samsung was catching up in camera department whereas Apple playing catchup in every department.
Sure if they pioneer some feature, I'll give them credit but they are too busy playing catchup. Innovation is far from sight, pioneering something is a distant dream for Apple in the smartphone world in 2020.
