It's been a while now since Samsung updated its budget Galaxy Tab A line. As per a fresh new leak, a new Tab A7 (2022) model is just around the corner. The leak offers a look at the tablet's rather unexciting design. It honestly looks like a spitting image of the 2020 Galaxy Tab A7 10.4 model both from the front and back.
In fact, Samsung might actually be reusing some of the parts, and perhaps even the device housing since, like its 2020 predecessor, the new Tab A7 (2022) is said to feature a 10.4-inch, 1200 x 2000-pixel LCD display, a single 8MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie, plus a 7,040 mAh battery. All of these specs are being carried forward.
One thing that is allegedly changing in the new model is the chipset. The 2022 tablet is said to come with a UNISOC T618 - a 12nm part, made on a TSMC FinFET process, with two ARM Cortex-A75 cores clocked at up to 2.0 GHz and six Cortex-A55 ones, also at up to 2.0 GHz, a Mali G52MP2 GPU and optional LTE connectivity. It replaces the Snapdragon 662 in the Tab A7 2020 model, which could actually be a downgrade depending on your point of view. The new Tab A7 (2022) is said to have 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.
On a more positive note, the new Galaxy Tab A7 (2022) might launch at a lower price point than its predecessor. The source suggests EUR 199 as the MSRP.
As a user of the 2020 lower model, my only notably gripe is how imposible is to manage 32 gb or memory. I would suggest getting more space if you're interested in this tablet
They should have upgraded the cameras to 13/8mp. Will new chipset result in better gameplay?
