Got my phone back from the service centre (which died within just 2 weeks of v limited use ...see below) yesterday, and it died again within just 4 hours! And as a bonus they have left particulate matter under the screen ...making it all look very irritating and dirty!
Now they expect me to take this to their head office here, which is very far away! And they are adamant about not giving a replacement.
Also discovered that this is a "Made in China" phone. Absolutely shoddy and unreliable piece of equipment. And keeping in view Nokia's treatment/attitude, I wont ever touch another Nokia product ever again.
Now I have to spend more time, effort and money getting this junk fixed... :(
Would most certainly not recommend this or any Nokia phone to anyone.
Could anyone give me guidance for getting printout of my messages from My Nokia 1112. I have data cable and software but couldn't get download my sms for print out.
Ascending Ring tones,, i hate that,,,
but the cell is PERFECT,,,
just go 4 it....
Latest update - My phone died after just 2 weeks of moderate indoor use (I us it as a 2nd phone)!!
It happened just after a caller hung up ...the screen went all garbled. After restarting, now the screen is totally blank ...only the backlight comes on.
So much for Nokia durablity! Now I have to march this piece of #$@&%* to the service centre... :-(
I m using this phone for the past 3 months and no problems. I talk on the phone for about five hours a day and this phone works like anything. My daughter gave a bath to phone and still it is working. If U want a basic phone with battery life and ruggedness this is the machine.
Jc, not sure why you have given that link... Anyway, it says : "Phone book memory for 200 names, up to 3 numbers for a name". This is completely wrong as only 1 num is stored per name!
I'm in India... and currently swapping Airtel and Idea Cellular SIMs on this phone.
Raccoon: have you wrote your network in your first post?
my network/country: Vodafone/Portugal but my mobile phone was bought unlocked.

I've bought this fone just today maybe it's nice but the only problem is the ringtones when i make it level 5 it make a sound just like zeeze zeezez can any one tell me about?
JC, please do your homework before commenting. Nokia (India) itself has confirmed that SMSes are saved to SIM by default (and you cant change it). I have confirmed this myself by swapping SIMs also!
Your comment about screen size does not stand either, as competing models offer bigger screens, and even colour screens for almost the same or slightly higher price.
yes the screen is small but it's farly normal as this is a low budget phone. want colors and a big screen? go for nokia E50 for instance...
> The ph saves all incoming SMSes to the SIM 1st
this is not true. mine can keep 60 sms messages inside it. and don't copy nothing. when a message is received it's saved in the phone memory, very simple as it should be.
I agree that colour screen isnt mandatory for this kind of phone but the screen is just too small!!! And its even smaller in relaton to the fonts! This makes SMSing v difficult - you can only see 3 lines of the SMS at a time and for big words only 1 word in a line!
The ph saves all incoming SMSes to the SIM 1st - u dont have the option to save in the ph memory or copying it from SIM to ph and vice versa!
The address book is too small - only 200 entries and only one number per entry! This is the pits! Forget about saving email ids, etc, etc!
The "Dialled Numbers" log does NOT include the duration of the call (u can however see duration of ONLY the last call in "Call Duration" elsewhere in the menu!
The SMS multiple recepient function sends the SMS to 1 contact at a time ...& not all at once!
On the positive side the ph lets u set a custom time for SMS delivery. But since this is a ph function, I guess ur ph has to be switched on and within coverage.
Reception and voice clairty is good. Speaker ph is average and handsfree is less than average ...and looks v cheap too.
The ph also has a Call and SMS filtering capability! Yay!!
As others say here this phone is probably one of the simplest and at the same time one of the best phones ever. It's very similar with the efficiency of the older nokias like 6210 for instance. The menu has been completely renewed but the right functions on the right places are still here.
For people who wants a everything-mp3-camera-mobile this is not a choice but for those who just want to make calls and send sms messages in a very intuitive, fast mobile this 1112 is for you definitely. Go for it then =)
For nokia: the successor of this one could just have a little bigger screen but this one is ok for the purposes it stands..
A very nice fone in low price range n nice Voice Quality with good Message storage capacity.
hey...can nebody tell me is thr any type of hanging n restarting prob wid thiz cell?
This fone is so sexy. Who needs a Sirocco 8800 when you have this?? Yeas I totally agree this fone is so durable. I can throw it out on the road and let it get run over by a truck and it doesn't matter cos the phone is so s*!T that I can buy another one!!! Pity it doesnt have a camera though. I like recieving black and white pictures with this phone!!!!
THANK YOU NOKIA!!!!
fancey, durable ,and slim set it is grate courage who manufact and design this but if u are aded in radio it shoud be more batter o k
Nokia 1112- 4 ever!!!! My first cellphone was Samsung C100. Ahhhh... Coloured screen, 65000 colours.... My next phone was SE T630... After that- SE K750i... after that........ Nokia 1100. I thuoght that i'd use it only for 1 or 2 weeks. But i'm still using it. And i really think, that it is one of the coolest phonz in the world. Not camera, not game console, not mobile TV, not mp3 player..... simply phone... For entertainment i have PPC, when my PPC battery low, i always have a long time battery phone to make an important call...
