thanks for all the comments here which helped me decide to pick this unit up as a back up. used for a couple of days. really like the form factor, lightweight, responsive interface (since no frills), and keypad. only downside is the speaker. wish the earpiece and the loudspeaker are separated. for long calls which I rarely do, it can be annoying to hear the sound coming from the back. Guess using the handsfree (which does not come along in the box but should be able to obtain for probably next to nothing) for long calls may be more comfortable.
This phone is not properly QC ed. So many Software bugs.
1. SIM service action does not respond
2. Incorrect Total Call duration.
3. Very Poor Audio Quality
5. Gave 5 times for repair and still exists all the above
overall this phone is quite good
but jst a few mins ago it slipped out of my hand and fell on the marble flooring and the glass on it did on crack bt the screen inside it gt cracked nw i dunt knw wt shud be done. i got a new piece jst a few days ago. even a week is not over yet.
Basic expectation from any mobile phone is mobility and privacy. This phone will not offer you any privacy. Whatever you speak echoes (irritating) and whatever others speak, it is transmitted all over (the loud speaker is horrible) - Brand Nokia can not offer such phones!
This phone has echo effect all the time.
when you try this phone in traffic or in crowded area then you will hear the noise of surrounding in your earpiece.
which is absolutely wrong
great basic function phone @ very low price.
works really well.
But I found the microphone is not placed wisely. sometimes my finger blocks the mic unconschiouly while talking with this tiny phone.
This is major drawback of this phone is that the person near you can hear complete conversation going on the call.
actually this is good mobile Phone with essential features.slim design is very good.i like this phone.
Nkululeko@Cellucity, 19 Jul 2009i've gone through almost all of nokia's entry-level units: the 1100, 1110 (and most of it's va... moreif everybody around you hear the conversation, why cant you reduce the volume in it.or there is no option to reduce the volume??
Texters beware! This is a dying breed of rubberized key-pad phones... stock up on this little piece of marvel... any minute now these phones will all die out and if you haven't got one of these, you'll have to text on some thing with a *shudder* plastic surface... :D
Simplicity is the Best! That is Nokia 1202. Straight forward. 1 million percent guarantee for text and call functions. Errr.. if you go for features, buy a laptop or a netbook. No cellphone beats the features of a laptop or a netbook. Ciao!
Very good battery life and overall performance. A major drawback is that a person beside you may hear every word of the person with whom you are talking.
