Very good phone for calls. Battery lasts 3 days, and at 10 $ it's a bargain. Nothing fancy, just a simple phone for calls and sms.
When you send a message, goes to the sent items but shows as "Pending" eventhough message was sent. Just odd! Also doesn't tell you what time you sent the message if you wanted to check. Older phone versions have this feature (even analogue phones!) I think this is just a bit backwards...
This phone is easy to use. Letters are big and very readable, I think that idea of not putting a manual is very good, because you don`t need to read anything. Similar phones like 1200 and 1209 are also very good. I plan to purchase this phone very soon.
El Tigre, 19 Oct 2009I have had this phone for 6 months now and still don't know how to use it. The manual is laugh... morehi, this phone is sooooooooooooooo simple, alarm clcok, sms and phone calls / whats not to understand there :) ?
the 1208 is a really handy phone.i had a n96 and it broke then i got an n95 and that died on me too. but then i went to my local tesco and bought this excellent phone for only £17.97 with 10.00 topup.thats what i call a deal.i also got 10% off with my discount card, every little helps.
excellent features, compact and reliable, nothing more to say.best phone i have had
I have had this phone for 6 months now and still don't know how to use it. The manual is laughable. Is there anyplace that actually reveals how to use the phone?

It is small and lookingn really beautiful to me
Rodger, 08 Oct 2009I need to know if I can use this phone over seas out of Australia?well.........you can.....but y dont ya go for a better fone?....
this set is verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry nice and bad
I am on my third one and I am yet to find one that works. All of them had problems reseting, freezing, and recognizing my SIM card (which works in my LG phone). Nokia is not helpful, and they refuse to give me a different model. This wouldn't be a problem, but they do not pay for the shipping to their repair center, and the phone is not worth it to keep sending it back. When I told them this, they just said they are sorry and that there is nothing they can do. I think there is plenty you can do, Nokia. They are just too damn lazy to care.
[@dd] what type of ringtone format you're using? mp3 or midi? where you bought the USB cable? from ebay? I'm finding for USB cable but not really which is suitable... is there any specific USB cable models?
I had this phone for 2 years now.
The LCD is the most delicate part of the 1208, hard falls and exposure to moisture will badly damage it. The replacement will only cost $4, and the difference is unnoticeable. This thing is built for those who want to stay in touch without those auxillary expensive features, or, for those who want to save. It is very sturdy, and doesn't give headaches to its owner. I love this phone!
