I just bought it as a temporary solution. Is there anyway to put some half-decent ringtones on the phone instead of the crap ones they provide? You can't even go on T-Zones to download some good ones!! Can you?

kevin, 24 Jul 2008Can Anybody tell me how to lock the keypadthere are 3 ways to lock the keypad. first and easiest way is in the menu, there is a icon for settings. click on it and look for right side. with this you can stroll down and mark all of the features you would like for shortcuts. look for one with lock keypad. all you have to do is touch this and the keys would lock. second, is look for keyguard and set it to automatic. this would automatically lock your keypad within a few seconds of not using it. finally, you can touch the upper left key and the symbol *. this can only be done manually and if you perform the 2 step, this one is not needed. thanks and hope i helped....
it is stated that my personal mobile phone Nokia 1208 was purchased in May,2008 and now it give some technical problems, like automically off and On. i requested to dealer to change the others onec but dealer refused the request, so that i need some idea to solve this problem.
this phone is horrible for me. it dies on my in less than 12 hours. the signal strength is bad with my old phone i got better. and now this phone is displaying not charging what should i do? it and it's shutting off on me as well?
i think its durable, very easy to use and economic way to go nokia!!!
I have bought the phone as a temporary solution. I can only recommend it for anyone who has absolutely not more money available. If you have a little more money, go get another phone, this one's horrible to use.
What's nice about it:
-vibration alarm (not common in this price category)
Things that turn it into a no-go:
-Display: while it is a colored display, contrast and brightness are way beyond what you can expect
-Useability: I'm splitting that up
--Menu structure: Horrible. You only see two menu items in the main menu, from which only one is subtitled to explain what you're going to select. The next one is just displayed as a non-intuitive, generic, meaningless icon. The "back" function to get back in the menu structure switches from the right to the left button unpredictable. There is no structure at all in the menu. Submenus are even worse. Only one item is displayed, you neither see the next nor the previous item, only a tiny, crampy, eye-hurting bar at the right edge of the screen, imitating a "scroll-bar".
--Keys: While the numbers are ok, the "menu buttons" (left and right button as well as the four-directions button) are too easy going and it happend to me more than once that I hit a key I didn't want to.
-Quality of speech: Most terrible thing of the phone. The speaker produces a lot of side-noise which makes it hard to understand the other one, especially at buzzing sounds. Using the phone on a busy street is impossible.
-SMS writing: while it does have T9, accessing its functions is done the most complicated way imaginable. Cycling through words is only forward, and instead of using the direction-keys (which is how I'd have done it) you hit * for the next word - moronism.
This cellphone is very similar to NOKIA 1100, which is the my first cellphone. I have used sereral phones before, but this one (NOKIA 1208) and NOKIA 1100 are my favorite. As I am using the cellphone only to call others, sending message, these two phones are just the right ones for me. Unlike some other fansy ones, they are "professional": good voice quality, VERY long battery period, durable design, slim, light weighted, flash light, dust-proof keypad. So, if you just want a handy cellphone to call and send messages, these are the ULTIMATE ones you can have. OOOOhhhh, if only I could have a car like this!
well this one has exactly the functions I wuold like but didn't find in HTC TyTN II.
For daily work I need the TyTN (You know organiser, excel, ability to view dwg files, stay online wherever i go) but for weekends after work I need just to receive and do calls, built in hands free (in case you drink and smoke at the same time), a flashlight (when you loose your lighter at night somwhere further of the fireplace in the woods), and definately a dust - proof keys :) in case i go out partying or having bigger ammount of beer, or going to countryside for weekend... and all those other situations when you dont work, you wouldnt want to carry a fancy phone just to loose or brake it...m ? now this one is EXACTLY what you need (unless you care more about what people think of U and not of what You actually need)
