I've had the 1280 for 18 months now. I like all the smart phone business, but I'm not into them, you understand.
I've had no hassle with this phone whatsoever. The battery life is huge, I often forget I need to charge the thing. I love the LCD screen, classic and clear (and of course, draining hardly any power). The calender is really quick to access, to just throw in the odd remeinder, I use it all the time.
Everyone is talking about voice leakage, which could be an issue if you chose to sit on someone's lap to hold your conversation.
I would argue with a previous opinion about the torch, and feel that it gives a good enough light (call it ambient) over a fair distance, easily enough to get you out of trouble. I'm sure this was considered by Nokia, too bright would draw more battery, therefore defeating the object of this phone
The talking alarm clock is just brilliant, when you just can't get those eyelids open in the morning, just make sure you can feel for the snooze button. It's hard to do this phone down, unless of course one wants to compare it to a smart phone, in which case, they've made a terrible mistake spending 25 pound on a Nokia 1280 - 25 pound, is that all!!!! Amazing!!!

But a bit over 200 in the Inbox, and it stores the most recent ... moreOkay, at least 230 in the Inbox.
However, that might vary depending on the length of the messages.

Anonymous, 04 Mar 2013First go in menu. Then select the following.
2. Phone settings
3. Keyguard sett... moreAh thanks.
I didn't see that there.
But yeah, that's the way to require a code to unlock.
Anonymous, 28 Feb 2013how to lock by using security code?First go in menu. Then select the following.
2. Phone settings
3. Keyguard settings
4. Keyguard code
Turn it on using code.
Anonymous, 28 Feb 2013how to lock by using security code?Hmm. Not quite what you're after, but I've found you can get the phone to require PIN code when you turn it on -
Menu > Settings > Security Settings > PIN code request > On. (Type in PIN - default should be 0000, I think)
With that setting on, you can change that code by going to Menu > Settings > Security Settings > Change access codes > Change PIN Code.
(o_O), 07 Feb 2013i want this ph0ne..but i c0nfuse.which 0ne is better?n0kia 1280,or n0kia 103..(battery life)Hmmm. If you can find a 103, go for that.
It has better battery life. As it's newer, it'll probably also be supported by Nokia a lot longer.
That's if you can find a 103 for sale. I can't find anywhere to buy it, but the 1280 was easy to find.
anish, 19 Feb 2013battery backup is too short..wat i do?Hmmm.. If you bought the phone recently, pursue a warranty.
If not, it might be time to replace the battery.
