im using this phone from 8 months... daily i send around 60-70 text sms & speak for around 1-1.5hrs. dropped it many times from great height & infact once a heavy wooden box fell on it... still this hardy didn show any weakness... as strong as day 1...
note: for people who complain about voice leakage which results in poor audio quality theier is one simple solution which makes to relieved. just keep finger on the back speaker while ur speaking in phone, u will notice that audio quality is being increased by 60-70% and most importantly other ppl cannot hear it.
Nokia 1280 is a simple phone. It's price is reasonable but it's quality is very good (unbelievable).
chivas, 03 Nov 2011guys this phone cn use in bahamas??I'm working as a sales representative in a company..and every time my customer ask for a cheap cellphone that is of good quality, durable, handy, user friendly or whatever....i always recommend them this Nokia 1280...not just because I'm using this myself but bec. some of my customer went back to me and said,"this phone is really great, and i like it more than of my damn touchscreen"
hamayun, 09 Sep 2011nokia 1280 has display problem, after some months lines appear on display. Same problem (horizontal lines in the middle of the screen) appeared on my phone. My unit was never dropped or thrown. Is this covered by the warrant?

the blank on the ringtone are for monotones. the last nokia phone i can think of that has a composer is the nokia 1208.. if you got a phone with composer then you can send tones to your nokia 1280. but the problem right now is finding new monotones/new songs translated to monotones
well.... some1 asked me why i was carrying a black and white outdated nokia mobile phone...i kindly asked him, 'what cn ur phone do?'....he said his phone had bluetooth frm wher he cud easily transfer data, music player to listen to music, camera to click photos, games to play when bored....and many other apps. i asked him how long ws his phone's battery life, he said if he used the apps it wud last half a day, without usin d apps it wud last at least 2 days....i replied dat my phone's battery last for 5 days without recharging. i told him dat his phone was prone to getting virus as he had bluetooth, wifi and internet facilities and his phone cud transmit more harmful radiation. i also told him dat my phone had radio and i cud listen to new songs anytime.i said while u r clickin pic and wasting time i wud be doin something productive...same goes with all of his apps.My phone doesnt have a protective case, its made of plastic, so whn ever it drops it does nt break. Other than my built in torch light, black and white game, my phone is simply used for talking. And i wont b trading my phone for any other phone..... ;)
Don't buy this phone. This is a worst one. If u use the torch lite for more then 3 hours continuously your battery will dead and also your display will get failed. Again you cant use your battery instead of u want to buy a new battery. I lost two mobiles with same problem. Don't use torch for more than an hour. pls don't buy this phone......

joe comfast, 23 Sep 2011very slow to sms !!what do you mean exactly by 'sms slow'?
about the black area on the tone list. There a thing called monotone which is purchased via texting here in the philippines. Its a long forgotten thing about phones since cellphones evolved. Its a very old feature specially for nokia phones. Even i forgot how to actually get them now since those who sell monotones through texting might be gone by now. anyway theres a trick on phones with composer on how you can send tones. ill just search for someone with a 3310 and try the trick
