This handset is very simple and does its job very well. It is quite cheap as well. I replaced this cell by nokia 1100 which is the king of budget phones and I was highly doubt about liking my new phone over 1100 but now I am quite satisfied with NOKIA 1280 as it is very comfortable at texting and super quick as well. It has about 300 sms memory. This mobile is the best for those who often does texting.
Few days ago i got it.it is simple set for all user.
Especial thing are its slim struchter fm and speaking
This is my experience with this handheld.
This phose as same as nokia 1202, 1203, 1616, 1800, 1661, 1662.
The speaker is 3 in 1, when u talking with some1 people next 2 u can hear u'r conversation coz the sound also comes out from rear speaker.
piseth veth, 10 Sep 2010Can anyone help me how to add mp3 rigntones on this nokia 1280? Cos no connectivity to transfe... morehow 2 add mp3 ringtone 2 this phone???
the answer is just put u'r phone in water, then send mp3 ringtone to this phone via infra red...LoL
a very nice back up phone!!!!
one of the best 2nd network phone in the philippines
I waited for this phone to be released but I got impatient and got the 1202 instead now that this phone is released I got one but I went back to using my 1202. My main complaint about the 1280 is that after sending a text message it goes back to the main screen and not the text editor screen. I hope that future firmware updates for this would fix this "problem".
BTW, I saw a promo in a mall where you buy 4 units of 1280s for 750 pesos each and you can charge it to your credit card. too bad I cannot convince 3 friends to buy this unit.
not too expensive but useful...
i have a black one, i feel comport with this phone ever...
to all my friendship try one now...
its for those who through those high end cellphones and want some simple good to use cellphone
hey guys. Ds fone is marvelous. It has Good life of battery compare to my nokia N97 battery span sucks. So n0w i dont carry it instead im using my nokia 1280. For safety if criminals do sumting bad frm you and get your fone its not that hard to gve because here in philippines nokia 1280 worth only 1,150-1,200pesos. Very cheap when it comes to m0ney and a two thumbs up fone ! A Must buy fone! Nokia Rules! ! !
To all 1280 owners,
if u want to settle voice leakage problem, u can stick a small masking tape to cover the earpiece and use the back loudspeaker as earpiece instead.
what the hell are u saying man
who says that this cell have no calculator just open ur eyes and search ur cell gently
there is a calculator in extras
this is the best cell ever according to text
love this cell due to its texting key pad
yes lil disadvantage of its earpiece is not such great
and sound is clear through back side speaker
i think so nokia is saving some money by saving ear piece in this cell phone :P
the speake phone is being used as ear piece in this cell phone
over all this ell is awesome
everything is ok for basic mobile phone. but you have to turn around the phone everytime to answer or make a call.due to very bad and low quality of earpiece
My 2 cents about user experience with this handset which should also answers to some of the questions asked here:
-> This set does have voice leakage problem similar to 1202.
-> The screen goes back to standby once you send the message and not to the 'message editing' screen.
-> Battery back-up is as good as the 1202, nothing spectacular. I still vouch by the good ol' 1100 for battery stamina.
-> Messages capacity of the phone is 250.
-> Some welcome changes in the spartan GUI of the symbian 30 doin duty in this phone.
-> Games included (for 'Sale in India' handsets) are Cricket, Bounce & Snake Xenia. Nice games for killing time. :-)
-> Calculator function is present (for 'Sale in India' handsets) in 'Extras' menu.
-> Nokia has been absolutely ignorant since the days of 1208/1209/1202 to look into the issue of the phone restarting when messages are sent to a distribution list; restart during some other operations also. The 1280 is also plagued with these niggles.
-> Keypad is big, comfy & fabulously tactile. 10/10 for the keypad. Avis texters'll love this, but again as mentioned above, restarting amidst texting will frustrate sometimes.
-> Haven't tested its radio as, for 'Sale in India' handsets, do not come bundled with a handsfree.
Overall, this phone does its job fairly well. Doesn't pretend anything out of its possibility.
For basic telephony at a reasonable cost, this handset is recommended.
My Overall rating for this handset is 7/10.
