This one is mine.
In 3rd world countries people are surprised to see me with this. they must be really status-conscious. What kind of status is to be gained in the west.
Garbage collectors walk behind their trucks using the latest smart phones. Zombies, like the rest of them. Me, i just want a phone. It used to be all about how small they could make it. well, the 1616 is as small as they got.

ok as a second phone but now it has virtually no volume. repair will be too expensive. what can i do.
this phone is in new condition, so no damage.any ideas
this phone has a serious bug that restarts it automatically during calls very annoying, voice quality is average, battery backup is good & light weight.
I appreciate your reply but this is not the case. They have actually sent each other texts whilst in the same room to test it and one receives, the other one doesn't. Its strange and still no nearer solving a mystery i could package, sell to Waddingtons and Trade Mark it Cluedo. Aarrgghh, someone beat me to it!
It took me sometime to notice this, but if someone try to send you SMS while you are in a zone without network (like a basement) there is big probabilities that when you will get back to the grid, you will never get the SMS !
Or even worst, instead you will get an old SMS back from the past !
I work some times deep underground and never got that kind of problems with my other phones (I was using a Nokia 1616 as secondary phone)
So it's not about my provider, network or something. it's a problem specific to this phone.
My old fella loves this phone and his girlfriend has one too. The problem is when she tries to send a text to him he doesn't receieve it even though she can send texts to everyone else. Does anyone know if there's a setting that either one of them does not have right on their phones? They are eager to solve this. Please can you help a romance for a couple in their twilight years?
How to find if the NOkia 1616 I have is europe version or US version? If anybody knows, post it ASAP. Thanks
Very good as a very basic use..
After a long use it uses to restart automatically...
Simply superb.... I always love Nokia...
The worlds long lasting phone. Unbelievable battery. Even if you throw this phone just like a stone on mans face. If you turn it on, just like there nothing happen. For Guiness.
I rather use this kind of phone than using the latest model of phone nowadays.
This phone is very easy to use and if u dropped it it will still work.
Unlike the android phones and Iphones, if u dropped it will no longer work.
Just waste of money.
it's a phone for very poor people just like me (:
All features are simple but they get every calls or sms without any problems. It's never failed me and never will fail me (i guess, i hope...)

Not Bad, I've loved every Nokia I've ever owned, hated every non-Nokia I've used. Every person I know who uses a smart phone uses about 10% of it's features. I use 90% of my cell's features and frequently. This is a great little phone, it is not a smart phone. I use my computer & tablet for surfing the internet and emails, I use my camera for taking pictures, I use my phone for phone calls and texts. Nokia has simplified & reduced the number of features, unfortunately not for the better. This phone has some limitations I don't like but will get used to, I guess. It seems I can't change the calendar display, it displays m,t,w,th,f,s,s. I much prefer, s,m,t,w,th,f,s. It also seems to automatically assign your 1 touch dialing numbers in the order you input them, or alphabetically? #'s 2-9 are the first 8 names in my contacts, I can either choose to assign 1 touch dialing or not. I can't assign the numbers I want from my contact list to the 1 touch buttons of my choice. There are also a few other shortcomings, I always set my "silent-timed" profile for meetings & during lunch, with this phone there is no "timed" option when I select my silent profile from the quick launch "goto" button. To set a timed profile I have to go through the menu, settings, select silent & use the timed feature. This kinda makes the whole point of the quick "goto" key useless for that feature. I hope the next Nokia I get has a bit more user control, this one will do for now. If it weren't for the three issues (calendar, 1-touch dialing, goto limitations) I would give this phone a 10/10, I have to give it an 8or9/10.
It's very handy and dependable as a PHONE for traditional usages .. I really recommend it .. Just one minor problem or bug that it (sometimes) doesn't report battery usage correctly when using the built-in FM radio , one time it showed full battery while it was almost empty , but again it just happens when using the radio and it happens occasionally .. The overall performance is very good :)
Anonymous, 07 Jan 2014Using it for 2 years. Battery usage is unbelievable. It is not heavy but it is really strong... moreYessssssss :)
