+ good battery life about 5-6 days (seldom texting or calling)
+ great for text addicts
- low light torch
- reception is bad sometimes
I've been having problems lately with receiving no signal. Must be antenna problem. I like the phone but must return it for something else because I need a phone that's dependable. I use T-mobile and so do others in my family. They don't have probs with their phones.
Will this phone work in the UK - with the proper sim
Thanks & Regards
Anonymous, 16 Jun 2010Get the nokia n8 which is better than any fone including iPhone 4Ha ha ha, how could you comparing this entry level Nokia 1661 with the high end N8??? Not every one needs 12mp camera or huge display with touchscreen technology. Every one has his own need and capability. Thats why best is always a relative term.
bought this phone as a stand in, and i havent put it down! simple, and perfect, and TOUGH! i can THROW this phone in a park ( has to land on grass)and it never breaks. superb. would i have another? oh yes, £9.99 probably the best value for money around.
my cousin bought that kind of mobile yesterday and we found out about the volume problem, we don't know what to do now we thought about changing it if we can, but is there a solution for this problem??!
I love the fact this phone is so simple to use, there is not another phone out there that can match the user friendlieness of this phone, nor its strengh, i oftern go badger baiting and had a close incounter with the well known and unpredictable Honey Badger, It attacked my addorable hunting pup named Archie, and bit his leg, i had no option but to use my 1661 as a weapon to hit that pesky Honey Badger around the top of its loaf until it let go of Archie's poor little hind leg. Therefor i dub the 1661 the best phone available you can take it wherever you go, if it was a knife it would be swiss. I will never be upgrading this phone to ANYTHING. y network provider will have to prize it from my lifeless dead fingers.
This phone works in North America! Particularly in Canada. Nokia care just confirmed it.
I bought a Nokia 1661 yesterday. I like it because it's simple. I read the manual. You can adjust the volume during a call, by pressing the right-navigation key, to max so you can hear better. Don't put your contact into "add-to-screen-list" or you won't hear the ringtone when they call or send a text message on your phone.
Bought this phone today, I like it because it's simple and it looks good too. At first I was wondering why the speaker phone is low. But, I forgot that you can adjust the volume to maximum during a call. So I did. And now I can hear well with calls. It's a nice phone.
It's design is appealing. But the worst part of the phone is it's lowest ear speaker's volume. Is there any way to fix it?
