Nokia has not purchased the phone business back from Microsoft. There was an agreement between these two companies for using the Brand Name "Nokia" for a certain period of time. The upcoming Android based phones will not be manufactured by Nokia itself buy by a third party in China.
Remember Samsung Metro 360, at least try to top it with a flip/clamshell phone.
why cant they bring a classic flip phone with WhatsApp and WiFi support, the camera should be 2 mp with led flash though. For cost cutting the battery could be non-removable and the radio could be removed. For inside theme just keep a color slider and add some retro-outdated fun apps.

Maybe you are right and they 'll use older software like S40 for example but we cannot be sure because it is also possible to use some new and simple Os for their feature phones.
Or maybe they'll use 2 operating systems one for cheap feature phones and one for the more expensive ones,we'll see...
Good luck to Nokia by HMD.
Nokia is always a trustworthy brand and deserves the best.

I seem to have this problem with mobile phones.....the old(brick type) ones loose its signal if it's held against my body, the touch screen ones just would stop working and show that I'm not registered on the network and I need to restart it. I enjy chatting with family and friends on whatsapp, I need something that will WORK. Which phone would be best?
Very good phone for professional use. In my country;
>>Supports satellite phones (thuraya) in terms battery & costs. I mean, while in the field, you can use it for calls where there's network coverage and/or use satellite phone for calls when your local service provider is out of coverage.
>>We buy only these kind... original Nokia phones for Delegates/expats/field officers.
>>Very strong battery that can never be compared to that of any smart phone.
>>User friendly and workers really don't need many instructions to use it.
>>Very affordable, portable, so durable and with all the basic features.
>>People these days carrying 2 to 3 smart phones and power bungs because of shortage of these original phones in the market.
My favorite Nokia of this kind was Nokia 206. I liked it so much...I missed and still missing as was stolen.
>>It had Facebook and WhatsApp with very beautiful pop-up notifications. Infact i could leave my smart phone in the house and could only carry my Nokia 206 for chats (Facebook & WhatsApp). Besides, it's bandwidth consumption (Use of MBs) is very low as was small screen. The buttons feel so soft.
>>I wish Nokia continues to produce such phones on very serious note.
Am waiting...and will be the first person to buy Nokia 216 as soon as it's out in the market.
