@ nokia 3110 classic, show call duration is available or no?
unfortunately no. what it does have is the call summary, which is displayed at the end of the call.
@ i plan to buy the set. wondering if there is instant messaging available on this set. is messaging easy on this set.
if you mean MSN and stuff like that, then no, there is no such application preinstalled, but you can always install one from the net.
i think sound recorder volume is just fine, as long as you talk directly into the mic, and not from 10 meters away ;). phone calls recorded with this are fine too.
Karellan, 10 Jul 2008Excellent phone considering the low price. It has lots of stuff like MP3/MP4, FM Radio, Blueto... moreKarellan you said the sound recorder has a low volume. That's true. But if you record sound with a video, it's really loud. The trouble is the video will of the ceiling haha. It's probably a software bug and yes it doesn't bother me too.
Nokia 3500 just has a better camera than 3110 but 3500 looks cheap. 3110 looks so aristocratic, not like ugly colourful cheap toy like phones which nokia unfortunately makes in the mid price range usually.

On the box of my new 3110 is says ' country variant uk' GSM 900/1800/1900.
Will this work in the US?
joe, 13 Jul 2008how big is the messages memory, does anyone know? is there a limit like in the old models or i... moreI don't think there is a limit, you can move messages around as you see fit.
which one is better?nokia 3110 classic or nokia 3500 classic?
these two phones are like brother and sister, there is a small difference between them.
3500 has a 2.0 MP camera, a chrome finish at the edges but a worse, 820 mAH battery (3110 has a new 1020 mAH battery). Also the 3500 costs more.
Personally i'd take 3110 any day, just for the battery life. If you need a better media phone, i recommend you look at nokia 3120 or 6300.
Anonymous, 13 Jul 2008which one is better?nokia 3110 classic or nokia 3500 classic? For fiture.. nokia 3500 better than 3110. But.. for design.. i'm very like with 3110.
how big is the messages memory, does anyone know? is there a limit like in the old models or it uses shared memory for unlimited number?
Anonymous, 12 Jul 2008Does that mean it will or wont work in the U.S pleaseIn the US, GSM networks use 850 or 1900 MHz frequency bands. So it may or may not work, depending on the GSM network.

Anonymous, 11 Jul 2008It is really a big problem for me with my new nokia 3110 classic phone ..several times the mes... moreYou need to make roughly two things before packet data will work properly.
1. you need to make proper settings in the phone, this can be done manually or with a SMS message. if SMS doesn't work (probably the settings are incorrect?) you just have to do it manually, go to homepage of phone provider, and search for the settings. use phone manual for help.
2. when all settings are input, you usually need to send a SMS with a keyword (GPRS) to your phone provider, which will activate the packet data service.
you have to do the same two steps for activating MMS messages.

For connection with PC you need a regular miniUSB to USB cable (which is sold in almost all computer and music shops).
Finally i bought it. Handset made in korea, battery china, headphone vietnam. its no need to say again this is a good phone. it really is.
i've already faced restarting and the forward problems of the music player, but i think they would not be much problem for me.
My problem is the data cable. i'm currently using bluetooth adapter. but it's really slow to fill up my 1GB microSD with songs. can I use the cheap miniUSB cable I got with a card reader, or should I go with nokia's expensive DKE-2 i saw on the local stores?
