@RBa & fireball
Mine is version 5.50 and the Messaging Options are:-
(The new one seems to be - Postcard)
Wait, i'm just confused.. So flash message is already available in the v.05.01? Maybe Nokia removed it with the v.05.50. What do you think?. Because mine was preinstalled with v.05.50 and my messaging options with 5.50 were:
Audio Message. Now with v.06.01, i got these options:
@RBa & Fireball
Fireball is definitely right about Flash Message with our older firmwares. Mine is 5.50 and his observation is correct. Cheers! I had never tried it... silly me.
my phone is v5.01 21-5-07 RM-237 but i already have flash message eversince. it is limited only to 70 characters. my messages options are text message, mulitmedia, multimedia plus, flash message and audio message.
Meanwhile, I revitalized this toy, so you can try this, too (for sure you got nothing to lose):
1. Move the content from the MC to the computer or else, using card reader or other phone;
2. Format the MC using other phone;
3. Put the MC into the 3110c;
The phone just blinked like it's going to restart itself again, but it did not. Everything is like it used to be before any restarting problems. I did not believe I'm gonna make it, but I did!
Now I suppose you just have to take care of your MC and organize your MC folders according to instructions posted by other members below, and enjoy, before the V 06.01. is available. Don't forget to share the experience.
Firmware v.06.01 is only available at the Nokia Care Centers as of the moment.. Maybe Nokia's official website still isn't updated.
Yes, flash messaging is network dependent. Like what i have said, it is basically a text messaging service and you will be charged based on the currently prevailing tariff rates for text messaging of your network provider.
Right after 10 days of using the phone, all of a sudden, the restarting problems (with 512 mb Sandisk micro SD in it) started to p...ing me off!! Of course, when I put the MC out of the phone, no more problems, but when I put it in again, the problem continues.. No cure for pain, a?
So, since there's no any official info on newest firmware version @ Nokia website, what is V 06.01? Is it for real, or is it a product of someone's imagination? If it's the real thing, if it terminates the extremely annoying restart problems, share with us some links or any other relevant information on that version, or stop making up.
upgrade to firmware 6.01 asap.
all restarting probs will be solved.
Flash messaging sounds like an exciting option. Just wanted to know if it is network independent or possible thru any network. I am really eager for the upgrade. I’m sure Nokia have listened to us and have made the upgrade worth it. I thought the phone blinked every 5 secs even with version 5. It still blinks with unread messages and missed calls every few seconds with version 5.5. Sure it should with ver 6.0.
And also, i love to use the flash messaging added by the v.06.01. These are messages that would instantly be displayed on the recipient's phone screen and they will not be having a control whether they would read your message or not because it would be blinking in the recipient's screen(though, these messages isn't saved and cannot be found in the inbox).To give you an example, it is basically a text messaging feature but appears like a reminder or a to-do note. It's a great addition. I have surprised a lot of my classmates with that feature. :-D
I recommend you all to upgrade your firmware to v.06.01. My observations with firmware v.06.01:
1. The restarting problem was just suddenly turned into a legend. I haven't experienced restarting problem even for a single time.
2. When you have an unread message and you haven't opened your phone yet, the phone's backlight will keep on blinking every 5 seconds even when it is already in the power saving mode and thus it would be very rare for you to miss a very important message.
Bro, just want to ask something. I have captured a 5 minute video(3gp) with my phone and i tried to convert that 3gp video to mp4. I have observed that the video was not as smooth as in the 3gp video. I mean, it was somewhat like slowing down. So my question is, do you know in what framerate does this phone plays the mp4 videos?.
Yes it supports mp4 videos. Just make sure the resolution is exactly 176x144. Or else, it won't play.
