Hey,i have the same problem with you too before. But i have already solved it.. The reason why this phone restarts when updating the music library are the corrupted music files.
My advice: When you add new songs to your phone, i recommend you to play the newly added songs ONE BY ONE in the gallery and NOT in the music player directly. It is good to play the songs individually in the gallery because you would identify which music files are corrupted and which files are normal. As soon as you see "file corrupted" when playing a music file in the gallery, then that would serve as an indicator for you to delete that song and make sure you do these steps before you update library or even accidentally updating the library. Because making that updating the library happen even if you aren't finished deleting the corrupted music files in the gallery would surely result to a severe restarting problem.. Mine also restarted of i think more than 30 times in just one hour, imagine that. But after doing that everytime i load a new set of songs to my phone, my phone gloriously never restarted again..
Hope this would solve your problem..
Hi there, does any body find the ringing volume of the phone is far too quiet??
Please responses from people who have been using the phone..
Its my 2nd request can anyone pls tell me can i install any software in 3110c like smart movie or some other???
A great little basic phone, truly a classic. Has all the standard features one needs in a mobile, and then some. The unit I own does not have the oft-reported "restart" problem. I'm guessing this error is probably file-naming related.
Nice large keypad (why do basic phones have the best and most usable keypads?), responds quickly and isn't sluggish like a Symbian phone. Camera produces relatively good photos. Too bad no EXIF data is recorded in the images.
Battery life is exceptional... except if you connect the phone via USB to your PC and use Nokia PC Suite, then it drains like crazy! Other than this minor annoyance it would've been perfect.
as for the battery life, it is really hard to estimate. base on your usage and your location, i think you will get a minimum of 3 days.
technically speaking, you need a specific card reader for a specific card type. for example there is a card reader only for micro sd without using the adapter to become a regular sd card.
however many card readers available in the market supports multiple sizes (sd/mmc, xd, memory stick) but using adapters to become a regular card before you can use it. for example, if you have a micro sd, mini sd or rs-mmc, you need an adapter to become a regular sd/mmc card so that you can insert it into the slot.
go for this Nokia 3110. Its cheap andcan solve all your pourpose. Another options is Nokia 2630 but the only difference is Nokia 2630 does not have a option for memory card. Let me know if you have any questions at email@example.com
Hi all, first post so hello from Northern Ireland.
I need a new phone that is funtional, has bluetooth, camera though quality is NOT important, makes calls and sends SMS messages. Screen quality or style etc is not important as I'm tough on phones.
Always bought Nokias (3410 atm which has about 3-4 days battery capacity) This is important to me, what is the battery time like when not using bluetooth? I only make maybe 1 or 2 short calls a day and send a few SMS messages. Can I expect a minimum of 4 days?
One more thing, when the colour screen goes off in sleep mode so to speak, is the time and any missed calls or messages displayed?
Thanks ... John
PS: Tempted to wait on the new SE T280i which has similiar specs but I'm a Nokia fan at heart!

Hello to everyone again!
Yes, it is possible to update the phone's firmware through the phone's mini USB port. Just connect a USB data cable and install the Nokia PC Suite and select Software Updater. That's all i know for now. Sorry bro, i cannot tell a step by step process when you are already inside the Software Updater since i haven't tried that yet.. Better seek advice from others who have tried it..
Love this phone!. But just a problem. Why does this phone restart when updating Music Library? Is this just a normal process? Please help! I'm using the original Nokia 512 mb micro sd. Firmware is v.05.50. Please help. Everyone's response will be greatly welcomed.

Yes. This phone has a restart problem but not that heavy though. I only experience restarts when i added certain songs that are corrupted.. The sound quality of the music player is just acceptable when listened through the headset. The music player plays these formats: AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, Mp3, M4a, WMA. The voice recorder records in AMR format.. For the video, this phone records in 3GP format. But can also play MP4 (176x144 pixel resolution only), and supports these voice codecs for the video: AMR(default), AAC, H.263, H.264.. Hope this helps..
I have been using this phone for more than 6 month now.. this is a awsome phone.. no hangs, no restart. I have a 1 GB memory card. Try to keep your phone memory empty as much as possible you will have no issues. Mail me on firstname.lastname@example.org for any questions. I will be glad to answer.
I just bought the Nokia 3130c and i think its great. But after about 2 months of use,it started developing some problens.Whenever i insert my memory card of 1 gig, the phone will on and off on its own and it will continue like that for about 5 times before going off finally. But when the memorycard is removed it will start working fine. I thoudg it was a virus so i formated the card therby losing all my songs. But i later met another person with the same phone and complained of exactly the same thing.I've tried using 512mb but to no avail. what do i do cos i believe its a problem for the manufacturers
I have a question?
is this mobile support Flash lite 3 Developer?
i like the phone as because it is affordable to all.
1.3 mp camera is also very good.
