The Nokia 3110c is currently unavailable for the firmware update since it is one of the phone models that is removed from the system of the Nokia Software Updater. Other handsets affected are the Nokia 3109, Nokia 5200, Nokia 5300, Nokia 6300, Nokia 7373 and Nokia 6120...
So to all of the users of this 3110c that are still on the previous firmware versions(v.4.91, v.5.01) that are experiencing the restart problems with it, just wait for Nokia to announce when the software updater could be fixed. This is due to the technical difficulties that Nokia is experiencing during the numerous firmware installations on the certain phone models..
Check at Nokia's official website.
I have been using the 3110c for the past 5 months and it has been great.Recently i ve been having problems when i want to take a photo or a video. When i want to take a video it says unable to save file. When i want to take a photo it says camera on stand by .Pliz help
dude, although i am not the person who you wished for answer, let me add something:
n series used different kinds of memory cards some use rs-mmc, mini sd and micro sd. as for nokia 3110c, it uses micro sd, you can't use your memory card from n70 to 3110 c because size is different.
card reader is optional although it transfers data faster instead using data cable directly from your phone. the phone can be used as a data storage / flash drive. a generic mini usb cable will do. so if you have a digital camera with a mini usb, it will work for your phone.
generic card reader is around USD 10 and generic mini usb cable is around USD 2.
music player>music library>all tracks>play a file.i think dis will solve ur prob.
yes u can use da mem card in almost all of da n series mobile.inorder to connect ur phone wid a pc u need a c readr or a usb.there iz not much of a difference btwn dem.u hv 2 take out ur mem card n place it onto ur c rdr,den connect ur c rdr wid pc n transfer files.dats all i know abt crdr(never used it).incase of usb, u need 2 connect ur fon wid a pc(mem inside ur fon)thru usb n trfr files(both do da same job).1mr thing u cn use ur fon as a modem by a usb cable.at my place, both of em r around da same price=3 us dollar.
I'm gonna get it soon & I think its a realy great phone.Just wanna hear from u all whether there are any useful sites for downloading 3310 themes, walls, games, applications, etc.Thanx in advance.
@ Show Stopper

I have bought this mobile today and it's great! I'll keep posting soon..

Updating the Nokia 3110c's firmware is currently unavailable because 3110c is one of the handsets that is removed from the system of the Nokia Software Updater. This is due to the technical difficulties that Nokia is experiencing. To some people that's experiencing the restarting problem with the old firmware version, just wait until such time that Nokia could fix the system of the Nokia Software Updater. It is not only this 3110c that is affected. Also the Nokia 3109, Nokia 5200, Nokia 5300, Nokia 6300 and Nokia 7373. Nokia 6120 are affected..
I have been using this phone for more than 8 months now... without any problems, 512mb memory ... no hangs or restarts. I have installed a host of applications and games... still no problem. I love this cell.

Its not a bad looking phone.
But can Nokia go back and do their home work,
its the phone with worst unstable software ever
hi every 1,
I've been using this phone 4 6 months so far. i can say I'm having a very good experience using it. when i bought it i noticed the problem of ringing tone volume level (4 is 2 low 5 is 2 high) i updated the firmware of it to the latest one (V 5.5) and that problem just gone. now i'm having a new problem, sometimes when i switch to speaker the phone just hangs up, that's not happening frequently.
i think the good points of this phone are :
- complete connectivity options (BT 2.0 ,IR,USB V2)
- an above average cam (i can print out very good pictures - specially in day light- directly to my EPSON R300 using a USB cable
- ability to update the firmware directly using a USB cable
-FM radio , music player
the things i do not like about it r :
- location of the speaker - i prefer it to be on either left or right
- you have 2 use the Nokia software to build playing lists.
one more nice thing about this phone : after updating the firmware , none of the stored data was deleted (call duration, message counters, data counters, custom ring tones).
Nokia 3110 classic has got some serious problems.. When I bought the phone, I found out that there was a bug in the firmware/software. I couldn't set the alarm for PM for items like reminder, notes etc, neither it allows to enter a time in 24 hour clock. One day I just tried to the Reset Factory Settings option and guess what, it solved the alarm problem. It allowed to set AM or PM, but, the on/off button on the top stopped working immediately. When the battery ran out and the phone switched off, I am not able to switch on the phone even after charging the battery fully. Like many people mentioned the ringtone volume sucks too.. Will not advice for anyone..
what is wrong with u people...why hasn't ne one talked about why this phone restarts randomly when it wants to and how its really not compatible with a mem card of only 512mb..the truth which is really bad prob doesn't even get posted..
@ Show Stopper:
Yes i also feel uncomfortable with the media player of this phone. I just hope that it could have the same interface with the music player wherein we could see virtual keys on the display and the total length of the video.. But i guess it is the concept of Nokia not to have that since it would result to a smaller view on the video. So maybe we'll just learn to live with that.
