Yr there iz so such thing as restarting .. i only experienced restarting when i used an incompatible theme of nokia 7373, u ppl shud use nokia orignal theme, it wont restart and abt v5.50 it the best firmware no restart(when i had v4.91; it also didn't used to restart) wel.. its v.fast ! and sound quality become gud and LOUDER !! and moreover u get better speed in watching videos!
when i purchased my nokia 3110c, v5.01 was installed in it
n i never had any probs with it
then i upgraded to v5.50
the problem lies somemwhere else
may be the mem card
i guess mem card is the real culprit, hehehe
Hi, I just bought this cell phone its nice.
n the price is right! for me.
Hey all. ..looks the restarting prob is biting you guys again :p i dunno why the restart thingy is after you guys, well next time when you write a post, include the region that your phone came from, and for tanzil well there is a way to switch back to v 4 .91,even if your phone came wit v 5.01 or v 5.50,you can really switch back to the older version, well check on the back for your phone, under the battery there are some numbers, than theres a product key for different region n software versions, now if you go on the nokia site and give your product key they'll give you the firmware list that are available for your phone,so just check out the net for the nokia 3110c product keys, than go to nokia site and rite the product key for 4.91,you'll get the firmware, and there is a software available for changing the product key of your phone, check it on net, than you just need to change the product key at your phone and change into the firmware that you need. Thankx
Those who got V4.91 fortunately shouldn't reply about restarting problem bcos v4.91 has no restarting problem yet.
All problems around Nokia 3110 classic when the software v5.01 and v5.01 obviusly have problems comparing with other Nokia mobiles.
Unfortunately software versions after v4.91 are not well competeble with micro SD card.
It would b better if there was any way to switch software to v4.91.
thanks guys for supporting the idea about getting the SanDisk.. I will try it out later when my brother gets home! *crossing my fingers* I hope this will work.. Hehe.. :) I'll tell you guys the result after we try it out.. have a nice day..
Hi. How many preloaded themes does this phone have? Anyone could answer me?
Good day to each and everyone. I am highly recommending you all to use only SanDisk Micro SD Card. I've already tried using Kingston, Transcend, SanDisk, PQI, Ridata, Kingcom, Toshiba and all of these I bought the 1gb just to search for the best quality memory card since the original Nokia Micro SD Card is not available here and I found out based on my experience that SanDisk performs perfectly and I havent encountered any problems that the other users have mentioned. So I am encouraging you all to go and buy the SanDisk microSD card since it got the best quality. I am still using the firmware v4.91 with the SanDisk 1GB micro sd card inserted and i have had totally no problems with it.
Yes, go for SanDisk. It has the Best quality.
I guess you are using Kingston. I have read your posts before.. Hey, I think its a high time for you to change the brand of your Micro Sd. Go for SanDisk. Lots of Kingston users experienced strange problems and i am one of them before. I think Kingston is not really that compatible with Nokia 3110c..
beware of the 2.5mm to 3.5mm audio adaptors when using them on the 3110.
generic 2.5mm 4 pole adaptors from electrical stores like maplins are useless.
nokias pinout configuration is different to standard and this is why 90% of them do NOT work.
you may seriously screw up your phone.
If u r facin restarting prob den update ur software 2 v5.50 &experience da difference. It rly works.
hi guys i have an idea of gettin a 3110c mob, through the post reviews i got 2 no tat mobs released after may r quite gd and the proper usage of the memory card helps 2 keep the mob wl so wats ur opinion of gettin this mob.....waiting for reply from exp ppl lyk u
problem solved after messing around with the music player .
sorry for typing a few words twice and sentences which made no sense. was in a hurry .. didnt have the time to check what i typed
ive had the Nokia 3110 for about 3 weeks now and i simply love the love . value for money indeed.
when i bought the phone it had the latest firmware installed and has been running perfectly until now .
i bought a 1gb microsd card for the phone . i have been transfering files through bluetooth until recently where i started to connect it through usb .
the problem which i am facing is that i have around 70 songs on the card and music player would update the library fine and play all the song . now it will only play my library only shows 1 song in the music player although the other songs are still on my sd card and can been see in all tracks, artist genre etc etc but still the music player will only play 1 song at a time and will not shuffle through all my songs . This had become extremely annoying
i thought there was something wrong with my microsd card so i formatted it . it didnt solve the problem . then i reinstalled the latest firmware . still didnt solve the problem and finally i restored factory, problem still exists.
help guys i dont know what to do now .
use sandisk or transcend mem card
u shud have read the reviews here n then shud have went for a sandisk or trnnscend
really dont have ne idea bout toshiba
and the fact that ur phone worked intially for 2 days is again very confusing
i mean wat made it to stop working after 2 days????
its a big question
actually we a need a investigating team to handle all queries of nokia 3110 classic
neways its never too late
there's 1 saying in hindi
"der aaye durust aaye" means its never too late
read all the reviews n surely u'll find answer to ur query.
from my last post, I sound so happy and satisfied with the 3110c that I bought for my brother.. just this afternoon he approached me and told me that the phone started to restart over and over again! :( and I thought that the restarting problem wouldn't happen to it since it's been working great for 2 days already, well until today it wasn't! :(
i inserted a Toshiba 1gb MicroSD card to it and it didn't have any problems since the first day i inserted the card in it.. i asked my brother what files he received today that might have triggered the restarting problem.. he said that our younger brother sent him gif images last night and that's all.. but the restarting problem occured right after that, it occured this afternoon..
i've read through the comments here and i have summarized the probable causes for this annoying problem.. i'm hoping that by correcting one of them might solve my problem! i hate my brother being dissapointed coz' i gave him this new phone as a gift for his achievement on his 2nd quarter grades..
1. long filenames on the music and videos
2. too many levels of folders created
3. animated gif images
4. mp3 files saved on folders instead on the root directory
5. low quality MicroSD cards (kingston, pqi, transcend)
I bought another 512mb SanDisk MicroSD this evening and was hoping that buying a higher quality memory card will solve the problem, as Johan has suggested. So with the above mentioned "probable" causes, I will try to correct everything using the 1gb Toshiba MicroSD card first. if everything fails with the toshiba card, i will try the new SanDisk memory card with the same correction on my file storage.
The unit has the new 5.50 version by the way.. so the restarting shouldn't be evident! but why am I cursed with such problem??? hehe..
Please help me out guys.. can you please help me find the right solution to solve this problem? I really am in desperate need of help coz' I don't want to make my brother feel bad after enjoying 2days with his new phone filled with loads of music.. i can't fix his phone yet because he's sleeping over in his friends house..
HELP!!!!!!!!! :) hehe..
while u r connecting USB ,every time 1st u should scan with ur anti-virus(good avira anti-virus) and dump ur MP3 or data. u never get on & off problem. try it , and send ur openion -email@example.com
i am on stealth mode right now. hehehe. i am currently experimenting on the phone. hehehe. just two days ago, i experienced the restarting problem. this is what happened: i am playing my mp3 and accessed my memory card and deleted a corrupted mp3 file and then boom. it restarted over and over. i turned off the phone and removed the memory card and it worked fine. i tried to insert my memory card again and it restarted again. the first thing that went into my mind is to check for the latest firmware to solve my problem. posts here says that there is already v 5.5. i have 5.01 in my phone. unfortunately, i can't install the nokia pc suite in my computer because i am running on linux full time. what i did was to "cool down" the phone remove the memory card and battery for some time then bring it back again. i turned it on, restarted for three times again after stabilizing, reformat the card in the phone. what i did next is to upload mp3 files to my phone. file transfer became slower and i already suspected that "we got a problem." i went back to nokia mode and update the music library and boom. restart again. i went back to first step i made. now i tried to switch to another
theme, upload the files again and now it is RUNNING
OK again. i also just discovered, this is using linux by the way, that it prompted me saying "no enough memory" during uploading of files to the computer. i have 183 songs to my phone, it ate 750 mb of my 1 gb card. i guess this is the limit for the phone to also update the music library.
