Hi,
Has anyone tried the PD-2 Flash Enhancements for this phone. Does it work? Photos taken in poor lighting conditions are gariny and thought the flash would solve the problem.

the sound coming from this phone is really annoying... even worse than old $10 pocket radio...

Hi...I read some of the comments and certainly i would agree with them. However, something wonderful happened after an awfully long time waiting for it to get fixed - all the problems are gone! I believe it has something to do with its software. There's an upgrade available, so if you 3230 owners have time, you can have it "flashed" to wipe out most of the glitches with this phone...GOODLUCK!!!

i dun recommend this phone to anyone..
i bought this phone to listen to mp3 but..
1) the sound is pathetic when playing mp3 WITH earpiece, n need i say more using speakers?!
2) warning tone before a msg or call is recieve makes u wonder wat is a ringtone for??
3) the phone wun vibrate when its put to silent mode, even when the vibration is ON.
4) i bought it only to realise tt the earpiece is not really functioning well when listening to radio. dissapointing..
i used to use SEk700i, n i can tell u that the sound quality of mp3 is sooo much better then 3230.
i bought it 2 wks ago n now im vowing NEVER to ever use nokia phones again.. im gg to change to SE walkman phones soon.
i dun recommend this phone to anyone. if ure going for quality sound, go for SE. their standard is soo far up above nokia. aniway, the sad truth is, SE is far ahead and better then Nokia in many ways.

Hmmm actually its true tat this phone is not very good when the speaker is on max. It is not very clear but on lower it is still acceptable.
This phone is petty a good buy at $198 with 2 yr plan as its a smart phone with many functions. though limited, its like the same. u pay for wat and u get wat. so.....worth considering for its cost and value.

When i woke up this morning,i found that all my messages in inbox,my folders,sent folders were deleted.the total no of messages in all were about 1000.i have already 20 mb of free space in my mmc so low memory should not b problem.did any of u face similar problem

Hi guys,
i dreamt of the N3230 (haha), which came through very clearly when i woke up. Have been looking up phones for afew weeks alr, but 3230 has nvr been on my wanted list. So.. thought of checking it out.
Pretty interesting phone, within my budget.
There seem to be some problems:
-unclear and inferior mp3 sound,
-1.2MP instead of 1.3MP camera,
-inferior photo quality at night,
-slow loading,
-freq. hangs in b/w applications,
which supposedly can be eradicated with a firmware upgrade to v4 above.
Is that true?
Any Singaporeans,
Problems with the phone?
Is messaging really that tough?
Worth the $198 for a plan upgrade now?

all the problems some of you has been ranting about can be solved with a firmware upgrade of V.4.0 and up!
So you better check and upgrade your firmware before you keep on posting your messages. Geez!

the 3230 is a fone in its own class, and yes, the fone has everything, i mean everything, but the big problem is the sound, its really bad, if the sonud quality was as good as the 6230i, i think i would be the creative cell fone of the year 2005/2006. but every other the is so exellent on the fone. its a business/imaging/gaming fone.

@shade u can use smartmovie to play avi videos. can someone please compare the sound quality of this phone with the the new firmware v4...does it sound nething close to the ngage...please let me know cos i myt swop this phone if the sound quality is still poor....those idiots at nokia knew exactly what they were doing making the 3230 mono speaker....cos they planned all along to make the 3250 which is part of their "music express"...if only i knew sooner...o wud have waited for the 3250:-(

I got this phone some 6 months ago. MP3 quality is not good. Camera shots pics better at a close range. Video recording is just ok. Okay sort of phone to have. But not comparable with the latest that are comming out in the market like K750i, W800, N90 etc.

I think you'll find the sound quality/level on this phone is very poor for some handsets, but most are quite good. Mine is VERY loud and clear, I have to set it to almost half volume to make it reasonable. I read there's a known problem due to the way the phone is put together, a piece of foam can obstruct the speaker. If you have a particularly low volume handset you might want to check on that.

wohoo.. i just got this phone, comment: awesome! it has the features i wanted, well u can say that the sound quality is poor and its a bit slow, but hey.. look at the other feats this phone has, great camera, i guess its even sharpener than k750.

I'm trying to get a 1Gb RS-MMC too... but so far I can't get it at my place. May be all the shop don't dare to order coz not many people wants it.
I've checked kingston website and found 3230 is one of the phone listed inside their 1Gb MMCmobile (RS-DV-MMC) compatible list despite the offcially declared 512mb limit. I wonder when will this be available at my place...
