I just update my firmware at Tampines nokia care last thursday 28/7/2005.
To my dismay, it is still V 3.0515.0ch

Besides wheelock, is there another nokia care u know that has the newest firmware?

@Zachary yeah u can put games n apps into this phone. when u're transferring file larger then e phone mem. u'll get a error msg n e transfer will stop. sound qual is poor for this phone. video qual also cant make it, lagging.. slow phone. worst then any other phone in e market.

do any of u have the dust under screen problem, do u know any place to DOWNLOAD the new firmware, and lastly has the firmware definetley removed beep sound, and can vibrate in silent mode.thanks.

Hi Malaysians! just 2 let u guys know, visit the official distributor:Zitron website at zitron.com.my as u can find official places 2 upgrade the firmware. DO call b4 hand..hope this helps !!

hey TC! 4got2 post bout the time it took..well, it took only an hour 4 the firmware upgrade 2 take place..however, i dun recommend 4 u 2 upgrade 2 any firmware less than v4..cos all the bugs are still in 3230 as it is still v3.

hey TC! well, the firmware was upgraded but it did not solve the problems..just made my 3230 more stable n less restarts..yupz! better upgrade firmware thru zitron coz its not that expensive..guesss we still have to wait 4 version 4.0 2 reach here..

Maybe I know whether this phone 3230 shows the LOW BATTERY INDICATION? From what I know, 6260 doesnt show it, when it runs out of batt, it just shuts the whole phone off.

6230i is Series 40 phone running Nokia OS whereas 3210 is Series 60 phone running Symbian OS7. So they are in now way of same platform. Pls do not simply quote.

3230 is a very good mobile.. great application. fm radio. 3d game & also very goood display quality than other 65k display.. i found only 3 problem that's 1.> hang / huge slow.
2.> sound quality too bad for mp3.
3.> 'edge' is not good like n6230i.
my suggestion is buy n6230i because it's very handy, same platform, good sound & display..

yup, it removed the beep sound and it does vibrate in silent mode now.. For the mp3 playback, it does not really sound as good as the FM radio but some how it is better then last time.. sound is clearer and louder with headset.

Is it so? Hmm, how come so much different.... anyway how long did they take to upgrade the firmware?? U did it at Zitron huh... i suppose i too have to do it at Zitron... coz there's no more Nokia Care Centre around.... close shop already few months ago. So did they tell u what are the changes? Still got beep i suppose?? How about the silent mode sms?? Got vibration already?

What they told me is that for firmware update it normally take 1 day. By the way, if you are sending in for the 1st time, i think they need to change some hardware thingy in ur phone too.. And this gonna take 3days.

I went wheellock for service, but i will not suggest u to send your phone there cos of the service there is really bad.. perhaps u can try tampines.. heard that the service there is better..

same dude: to your dismay, this is considered a smart phone, whereas Nokia 6230i, K750i isn't
