i'm sure you know your mp3 songs are either saved in your phone's memory or in the rs-mmc yes?
So...go to profiles, select the profile that you want to personalise, and since you want to set your ringing tone to the mp3 song of your choice, just select your 'ringing tone, line 1' and choose the song. slowly slowly scroll and you find the song with a .mp3.
This advice is useful and effective...if....you have an mp3 saved into your phone memory/mmc. If not, kindly ignore the above advice.
ALTERNATIVELY, go to the gallery and to that specific folder where your wonderful mp3 songs are stored and select your desired track. it'll launch and play in the music player. stop the track, go to options and select 'set as ringing tone'.
if all this fails, then read the manual. coz wat i've written is based on the manual and some self exploration.
explore your phone, you'd learn more things yourself and its either you'd appreciate those little moments where u go 'ahh..so i can do these...' or you go 'huh?? so strange...y cant i do this...y is there this beep?!'

im always reading the posts here in this forum, so that i can update my nokia 3230...
i just want 2 ask where can i download free softwares/applications that is compatible with the 3230...because some applications like camcoder is not compatible...
and besides, i want 2 ask if what is the compatible memory card for 3230, i have bought a rs-mmc 256mb and its not working... whats the difference between a rs-mmc memory card only with dv rc-mmc memory card?
STOP FLAME-THREAD pls!
the price has dropped? how much is it now? in US $ or Rupees(only phones price n not service plan)
and yes. except for the mono thing what is bad about this phone as compared to 6681. 256k colors doesnt mean much(read 6680 reviews). 6681 surely doesnt hav a radio.
i m not a big music fan so prolly i wont mind mono mp3. but how bad exactly is mono?
to those who asks questions of issues that have been discussed/highlighted/shared before, you're totally not respecting those who hv discussed such before!
make an effort to read those previous posts before asking! you'd get a very very clear idea and a better understanding of the issues.
posting rule > "read before you post. search before you post. there is a big chance that your question is already answered"
How wonderful! Sean's nonsensical claim that the 3230 plays stereo has been removed! Yay! I didn't mind if my posts were removed too, its basically intended to correct him and to have him admit his mistake.
I welcome all back with constructive discussions/opinions and share with us, your latest discovery! Like installation of a cool app, other buggies.
The price of this handset has dropped..making it even so much more affordable now.
to 3230 user,
i do think that this phone compatibility is a little different to 6600 apps, this phone is more compatible to 6260. So, of you try to install apps, i think it's better to install apps for 6260 rather than 6600. Well that's my opinion..... :}
if anyone that use BlackList application can still use it on 3230, mine doesn't... is it the same with u
Hi Guys! I have been on this forum for some time since i had purchased my 3230...But Guess i would be doin it less often as i have traded my 3230 today for a 6680...
Felt bad to let go of it, kind of liked the look..But couldnt control myself after havin a look at the 6680 for the first time today in my city..
Belive me the 6680 oozes CLASS, but the 3230 also has an identity of its own..6680 surely looks richer..
Comin to the performance the 6680 is really fast..the display is also Great!..initially it looked a bit dull but..after adjustin the Display brightness it looked real good..The keypad feels a lot better than the 3230...
AND THE MAJOR THING it is STEREO MP3...
So what i would suggest to prospective buyers of 3230 is wait for the 6681..as it is goin to be just a little costlier than the 3230 but would WELL WORTH THE BUY...
I got this link while searching for the latest version of realplayer. Can you guys just check whether this one works better than the one preinstalled as i dont have a 3230 as of now !!!!! ( Of course you have to register as a user in www.mobango.com before downloading this file)
Read previous comments first b4 asking any questions..
Anyway.. u can set mp3 as ringtone and alarm..
It is value for money too..
but if u are thinking of using it as a mp3 player, den u should wait for 6230i
does 3230 use mp3 as ringtones?????
can u chng the alarm tones to mp3???
I don't have a 3230 but I wanna buy one, is it value for money????
i tried the ultramp3 , mp3player on my 3230 . it's indeed louder . but the sound quality out from the speaker and from the ear piece sucks . the quality is like very bad . need to lower down the volume by a little . by than , it's about the same as the normal real player volume already . anyway IT'S STILL MONO. why not you guys go suggest to nokia ask them add mp3player feature in real player . perhaps they will update real player built in mp3player ? whahaha . i anyhow say want . who has got the latest firmware for 3230 ? nobody post their firmware how to verified which version is the latest ?
i've found this link for you: http://www.pcsoftland.com/graphics/image-converters/mp3-rm-converter.htm
Yups, music files in mp3 format demands a higher space. What you can do is to convert all your mp3 files into .rm files.
Not sure what program does that but you can always do a search for 'converters .rm mp3'.
if u wan to use this phone as an mp3 player
i suggest u forget about it... although it has real player and can play .rm files..
there is no equliser and it plays mono...
wanted to ask something...
The music '.rm' extension files take very less space in memory, usually less than 1MB. I wanted to know, if this phone has real player like the 6600, so that I can play those files too, along with MP3 that take around 4MB. Any other players or the default one supplied with it play the '.rm' files?
and also any idea of a graphic equaliser feature available in it.
Hope u guys answer it.
