Sorry but I can't agree with your opinion of the 4.2. Yes I agree that it hasn't got the features that you say in your review, but if these features were important to you then why did you buy it?
I spent a lot of time trying to find a relatively cheap, compact, reliable phone from a mainstream company that offers support and updates (up to 3 year, most companies stop support after 18 months or offer non at all), plus I wanted a phone that I could pronounce the name of.
So far the phone has done everything it says on the tin and that tin says baked beans so I'm not expecting caviar when I open it.
Cheers

vasim, 11 Mar 2020Does anyone experience battery drain (not aggressive) Is there any way to earn a better batter... moreHi,
I've not experienced any battery problems with my 4.2. I go about 4 days before I think I ought to give it a charge and even then it's not in the red. However as I said in my review I class myself as a "light user". I expect that you have already investigated this but there are some settings you can try that are on your phone; battery saver and Nokia phone health check. And of course there's always the Nokia chat line. I found it quite useful when enquiring about what was the best memory card for my Nokia.
Cheers

Good assembled quality but little bit heavy - probably coz back glass panel.
3GB RAM works pretty fast on Android One. Lets see how it would be with 10.
Display is not good enough as resolution is lower than other brands same hardware and software inside. No Gorilla protection!! It is stupid or overated decision.
No gyro! Dmnd! No gyro! How can you use navi without gyro?! This is unbelievable! Shame!
Battery is enough to powerize processor and display for 10 hrs continuing usage which is just brilliant.
Proximity sensor - worst ever! Only Gigaset GS180+ Series has worst proximity!
Same time fingerprint and NFC services have great performance.
Radio - worst! Worst! Have tested 3 headsets without success. When you connect plug and turn on FM no sound is playing. You must disconnect (without turn off FM app) and reconnect it again. And cheers - sound starts. The procedure is one and same with 3 different headset brands: Hama, JBL and Sony.
For 5 months of heavy usage device is still working on same stage as performance as it was in the early beginning. And after few patches update.
May be it is the best for money can buy but its global quality and behaviour at all are far away even from iPhone 4s.
My conclusion: Sirry Nokia bu best Nokia can be for sure 6510/6310/6100/8310 and not 3, 3.1, 5 or 4.2.
2,5 stars from 5.

If both are 2GB ram version then if you don't need a fingerprint reader get the 2.3 as it has 32gb storage and 2gb Nokia 4.2 has only 16gb
Hello it's Lancel from Nigeria... Please help me... Should I buy the Nokia 2.3 (37000 Naira) or the Nokia 4.2 (42500 Naira)?..
Thanks as you reply...
Was nearly put off by reviews saying it was really slow. Doesn't seem to be at all, maybe software updates fixed that? Anyway for the current price it's brilliant
Pros:
Seems fast, in comparison with an LG G6 supposedly better equipped
Nice display
Easy to handle
Hepatic feedback is actually really good
Android one (getting Android 10 probably 11 too)
Great headphone audio
Too early to comment on battery
Cons:
Camera is pretty meh (not an issue to me)
Speaker audio only OK
Was hoping for a notch hide option
Underwhelming charging speed

Had this phone for a month now and for my needs I am really pleased with it. The review that gsmarena.com gave it was fair apart from the summing up at the end. If someone is searching for a "compact budget phone" then for a professional reviewer to recommend a bigger, more expensive phone to me is missing the point.
The features I like are; the promise of updates for two years, Android 9, the physical size and lightweight design, the option to turn off the Google assist button, the promotional offer of extra warranty, clear case cover etc. Camera seems to work well.
The features I am not so impressed with are; the slippery glass body design (why would you design something that is light and easy to drop?), old style usb port.
Things I would recommend to another buyer; I bought a 64GB memory card, I class myself as a "light" phone user with only a couple of downloaded apps, even so the phone memory is at 50%. Also watch the YouTube video presentation on the Android 9 features if this is your first Pie OS.
Things I would like to see from Nokia; a compact version of say a Nokia 6 or 7 series.
South America model (Chile): No update, Security patch level: stuck on April 1, 2019 :(
I use this phone for 1 month, switching from iphone 5 which was great phone, no issues for 8 years of heavy usage. So I think the Nokia 4.2 is great budget phone that has a lot of advantages.
My opinion is based on owning iphone 5 for a very long time, so bare this in mind that I have no experience with the modern very expensive phones.
Pros:
- latest android which is clear version
- the camera is better than the iphone 5 camera, especially in dark conditions, less noise, better 360 photos
- battery can very easily last 2 days - if the phone is not used or used occasionally for calls it can last even more - battery dropped 7% for 7 hours without touching the phone and talk time of 5-10 minutes
- processor is very good and the phone feels decent
- has radio and basically unlimited free music without internet which is super feature
- phone feels good and it is feels thinner compared to iphone 5
- fingerprint is good
- screen brightness can be turned very dim which is great if you like to read books before bed in a dark room and can be very bright too. Also I like the colors of the screen - it feels a lot better than iphone 5 screen.
-good brand, I have always liked nokia
-beautiful design imho
- 3.5 mm audio jack
Cons:
-micro usb instead of usb typec which is not actually a big deal
-without a case is very elegant but is very slippery and very likely to be dropped
-camera is good but cannot replace a good dedicated camera
-camera can feel a little bit slow, if you are used to a very good phone - you better try it first or see video reviews
p.s. The charger output is 1A
