Anonymous, 08 Dec 2008hi i got Nokia 5000 last night and it looks pretty nice and workable. but i got 2 problems. 1... moredunno bout the time problem mate, but it goes black to save battery, that's why the battery life is so good, even if you have a tiny bit of backlight on to tell you the time it sucks your battery like a vampire. just press the middle button and the screen lights up for about 2 seconds.

This is a very good unit nokia 5000..but one thing i should know about this model that who among you know..Is there an application that suits to this model like adobe reader or any anti-virus that work to this model?..anyone try this installing some application?

I bought a Nokia 5000 today and i don't find the way to activate the camera. Nothing is mentioned in the manual.
When i click on activate I keep getting the same answer:
camera on standby :s

this phone looks techie, but common NOKIA!. pls. put a memory card slot. how can you use the phones MP3 player if you can just put 2-3 songs,. good thing there is the nokia 5130 xpressmusic to save it. by hte way, the price of nokia 5130 is almost like the price of nokia 5000.

moan moan moan,what is wrong with you people,the nokia 5000 is a chaep phone,it cost me £50 and i have had 9 phones and i can tell you this i LOVE it.
its basic yes, but you people knew this when you got one,i got it because its the cheapest slim phone on the market. and with the amount of phones out there i would never pay above £100 ever again.
i wanted a simple phone and that is why i got this one ( talk and text) no more.we buy these expensive phones with all the gagets and never use most of them.
i had a sony ericson i 800 (cost £120) for 4 month and just sold it for £50, it was rubbish, chunky,heavy,and no good to carry in your pocket.

i got Nokia 5000 last night and it looks pretty nice and workable. but i got 2 problems. 1; when i receive a sms, the time of receiving is something else!!! 2; when it goes for sleep , no time and date shown on it like the other Nokia models. plsss help me out with these 2 glitches as they`re getting on my nerve

Great looking, and has great lay out. But why put bluetooth capability, camera, video and mp3 player with no memory? Madness! But, did just want a phone, and its fine at being just that.

I konw that Nokia 5000 set make date and it softer is ablabel. it is esaly usfull drecton and it set is made by Nokia or made by china.

al d functions r useless widout enough memory..u can tak pic,transfer data from bluetooth,instll song,,bt cant save nethin in ur phn,,,rubbish!!

I have had 3 of those phones that have been faulty. The camera goes onto standby, bluetooth doesn't work & it occasionally switches itself off if you get a voicemail message.
I wouldn't buy another one.

back cover cannot slide; you have to pull it up hard to open in order to place the battery! FM radio is not functioning.

am i missing something? why would they put an mp3 player on a phone with no memory card slot and only 12MB of internal memory? that's like 3 songs. well, on second thought, i could listen to "milkman" by aphex twin all day every day, everywhere i go...
