Nevin Joseph, 21 Oct 2009What was I thinking... should've known that 8.2mm driver is still no match for the 16mm sony d... moreIf you are using in-ears for 1st time then...one thing abt in-ears is that the ear buds must make a perfect seal with you ear...only then you will hear/feel bass.
Anyway i doubt it can match sony in bass.
Anonymous, 21 Oct 2009i agree with you, i think MDR-ED12LP has great sound better than philips. but if you want more... moreWhat was I thinking... should've known that 8.2mm driver is still no match for the 16mm sony drivers.. It just pumps out bass like a drummer on steroids... I'll never buy another plugin earphone again.. My sony beats the SHH9700 simply in all respects...
It's like comparing an ordinary tap to a firman's hose... I felt that though the sounds reproduced were clean, it felt like it had been supressed and compressed. With my MDR-ED12LP, you can actually feel like you are listening to the real thing. The drums and guitar solos sound like they should. the only thing is that it's a bit down on the mid ranges. But at that levels of output, you'll hardly notice the difference..

Please do not buy the Philips SHH9700 in ear earphones. Bought ... moreis it just the loudness or overall its bad...
BTW shh9700's output sound is low only 100dB.
In most forums they rate philips highly...maybe it needs a burn-in or something...loudness wont improve but other things might.
This phone is v thick,,headphones r also of bakwas quality...only operamini is provided for browsing which almost not working properly...sound is loud but not clear...overall dabba phone hai....itz better to go wid nokia 7210..or..2700....

Please do not buy the Philips SHH9700 in ear earphones. Bought ... morei agree with you, i think MDR-ED12LP has great sound better than philips. but if you want more great sounds experience with 5130XM you better get sony EX serries like EX 52 rather than philips SHH9700.
but if you want cheaper headset, maybe you can try samsung headphone which i have it one. it has wonderful sound with 5130XM
This is a great phone for music lovers. Easy to navigate with, using the dedicated side keys. The sound quality is acceptable, most phones doesnt have an equalizer for you to mix with, but this one has! The BL-5C 1150mah Battery has staying power but you need to recharge it by the end of the day. Most phones do! I have not tried inserting a 16GB micro card in it but some say it works. Also one good thing is..Memory Card is HOT SWAPPABLE! No need to turn off the phone to interchange memeory cards. One BAD thing about this phone is YOU CANT USE IT OUTDOORS UNDER THE SUN! YOU CANT SEE ANYTHING UNDER THE LCD SCREEN! I hope you Nokia guys read this! LOL
To music lovers all over....
Please do not buy the Philips SHH9700 in ear earphones. Bought one today for 1500rs despite having a Sony MDR-ED12lp which costed me only 890rs.
Philips is so over hyped and doesn't even come close to my sony in terms of output and audio clarity.
As I already own my Sony, just wanted to try out a different earphone and by paying almost twice as much, I expected a lot for a philips quality.
First I tried it on my LG GM200, I put on the same volume levels as I use on with my Sony. Honestly , I was expecting a loud bang but contrary to it, the sound was too low and was sound way unnatural. So I though it might be because of my phone, so I got my friend's 5130 and listened to it instead. It was no different either. For my Sony, using my GM200 or 5130, you can only use half the volume at any situation no matter how noisy the surrounding is. But with this earphone, I have to use almost 3/4 to full volume which is very disappointing for me. For 1500rs I had a lot of expectations but Still my Sony beats it at every respect. The specs do tell a different story rhough but I couldn't make out the difference much....
I know that some of the philips users may be a bit p i55e d off at this but it's the truth. Please recommend Sony MDR-ED12LP earphones to all those people out there instead of philips.
If you can, make a comparison of these two and correct me if I am wrong.
I am writing this because I don't want to misguide people into buying something which is not at all worth the money you pay for... It was a complete waste of money!!
And one more thing... Sony MDR-ED12 comes in three different colours with metallic finish ( Red, Blue and Golden) it goes very nicely with 5130...
U can simply rely on it !!!!!!!!
It is just awesome !!!!!!!!!
