Or you can get a special data cable which has two wires coming out from the usb. One is used to connect to the phone while the other is a charging pin which can be plugged in to charge the phone at the same time.

Just make sure to stick thin screen guard instead of the thicker one. This greatly improves touch response. The screen guard that come with the device is good one but gets scratched easily. Good quality screen guards don't get scratched even if you scribble the screen with the stylus.
I am a frequent internet user and use the handset to connect to PC and use the set as modem. My current handset, Sony Ericsson Naite gets charged automatically through USB connection.
Is it possible to get the 5230 charged while being connected to internet using the handset as a modem through USB charging or using the default charger?
Anonymous, 14 May 2010Hi SidewindeR, can u suggest me any good earphone (iem) for 5230xm. Budget is approx R... moreWell mate you can go for the creative ep630. It's a great sounding earphone but only an entry level one. The sennheiser cx300ii are definitely out of league as it costs around 2.5k. I advice you not to go for sony iem's as the only thing they seem to have is bass n nothing else. For 1.5k philips shh9700 is a good iem with balanced sound and extended bass. I'd say better sounding than creative but just trailng behind the senni cx300. For the price of the cx300 or less, you can go for the philips she9800. It's one of the best sounding earphones i've owned till date. It's a hybrid design like the sony ex85sl but the audio quality is astounding. It's premium quality with pretty balanced sound accross the frequency range. Bass is clear and powerful. High are better and clearer than the shh9700. The other notable thing is it's superb sound stage which gives you a feeling that you are listening to a full sized headphone. It gives you that surround effect which goes great with this phone.

sanyogita, 14 May 2010i m a big fan of youtube videos .
can 5233 play youtube videos ? i want 2 buy 5233 but i m co... moreYes ofcourse it can play youtube videos. I have already commented on it in my previous posts. Just digg through the forum or if you don't like getting you hands dirty, let me just copy and past it for you below.
Infact there are three way by which you can stream youtube videos.
Using the default browser or Opera mobile, entering the address www.youtube.com takes you directly to the youtube mobile site which can also be accessed by any non smart phone or feature phone supporting media streaming. the video links are opened in realplayer which automatically does the streaming for you.
At the bottom of the page, there is a link for accessing the full desktop version of youtube. The default browser can access the site directly and here the videos can be accessed from the youtube page itself just like that from a computer. It supports full screen viewing also. Here you can also wait till the video loads completely inorder to avoid those annoying interruptions while loading.
Then there is the final way using a dedicated youtube application. It can be downloaded from m.google.com and you can find the S60v5 for free. I find it better than the other two ways. You don't need to load up the whole page and is a bit easy on the phone's resources.
Buddy, 14 May 2010Is nokia 5233 a XpressMusic device?.as it doesn't have the XpressMusic logo like the one on no... moreYes it is officially not classified as an Xpress music phone. But the hardware is still the same and audio quality is outstanding if not better than 5800 provided you use good headsets. Xpress phone come with better quality music accessories and are better equipped for listening convenience. That would bring up the price in terms of the accessories provided. I have compared my 5233 with my friend's 5800. The audio quality on both are almost the same and my ears had a very hard time in distinguishing which is better. But listening via speakers, 5800 has that edge as it has dual stereo speakers. But with headsets, they alls sound the same to me.
For its cost, its an outsatnding phone. But I think Nokia should charge maybe Rs 200-300 more for a pdf and document viewer. The alarm clock of Nokia 5130 is very good you can set days also. The world clock function in 5230 could have been same as 5130.
But at Rs 7550 its too good a deal. Its light, nice looks and has everything that a person can need on the move. WLAN is not really needed and spending Rs 4000 more for it is not worth it. A very satisfied user.
