is there a secondary camera but not 4 video calling, just taking a pic of my self
vijay, 28 Feb 2010can u tell me how to use the maps in N5233No GPS in this model. You could have go for 5230 for using gps :) :) :)
I can say it is best handset in this price range after using it for 1month.
At first the mobile gets restart automatically,,but problem solved after updating the firmware.
Wht I like-----
-great display .best for watching movies, song.I m nt using laptop after buying dis fone.downloading movies via internet nd watching on handset
-excellent music quality.u can buy a good earphone at the cost of1000-1200 at any mobile or comuter showroom
-video recording is excellent.vga at 30 frame per second. looks like charm.dis is my primary choice before buying fone.
-internt browsing grows on me .firstly i was dissapointed.bt after few days i feel touchscreen is very friendly, just use ucweb 7 for downading n operamini 5 for browsing
WHY THIS HANDSET-
-i had 8gb memory card,n95 earphone, microusb datacable before buying dis fone .still camera is nt important for me(camera is decent nt bad as in reviews) ,i use video recording n i hardly use flash.so i choose nokia 5230 over 5800.wifi is nt big deal for me as 3g can found everywhere in india now.gps is good as it doesnt need gprs connection
DONT THINK TWICE BEFORE
can anybady tell me that after upgrading new V.12 firware what changes i can get ?
Anonymous, 28 Feb 2010is there any software available at free of cost to view document on this mobile(nokia 5230)As far as i kn0w, i think there isnt a freeware of any document viewer for s60v5. But there are a l0t of selfsigned adobe reader that can be downloaded in the net, but it might n0t work, and if u really want free then the only thing u can do is sign it or hack ur ph0ne perhaps.
But i d0nt suggest that, its stil better to buy an apps that has an authentic cert with it. Ü

Just by pressing and holding the answer key butt0n, u can say the name of the pers0n u want to make an outg0ing call. (Example "eric")
But there is also a virtual keypad on the screen, mind you, just tap "ph0ne" in the h0me screen, or the "c0ntacts". Either way, its n0t c0mplicated, just like an ordinary n0n t0uch ph0nes.

Tech guru, 28 Feb 2010I never posted about jet and omnia. And you seem to be quite oversmart guy.let me tell i revie... moreForget about me if I'm smart or oversmart, but you certainly are neither.
Old man, let me ask you, what is "os based on java programming"? Do you even know what JAVA is? If you do then are you telling me the OSes operating on "non smart" phones are written in JAVA and thus support JAVA apps? And do you even know what a firmware is? Are't you the one who is saying "samsung never releases any updates or updater software" for their non smart phones? Or is it another impostor? Read this news about a non smart Samsung phone (Jet) getting an upgrade
On GPS, how good is Google maps than Ovi Maps? A person who has Nokia 5233, why should he get an "unlimited gprs plan" to download maps off Google Maps if he can download and save the relevant map on his phone through Ovi Maps and use it without any downloading cost? Probably you might have thought about the fact that Google maps give you your location. But thats not your location but your towers location from which you're getting GPRS signals. It says you are somewhere around it. On the other hand you can simply search your street address or postcode to find your surrounding or new places.
And lastly you might have access to multiple IPs but you can't run away from your posts. It gets recorded in GSMArena. You said about Samsung Jet and Omnia, not from this IP but you replied to Emir with this IP claiming "jet run on windows". You might be able to fool fools with this stuff, but not everybody. If you really run a tech website as you have claimed earlier, it surely would suck.
SR, 28 Feb 2010Omnias are smart, Emir. http://www.gsmarena.com/results.php3?sQuickSearch=yes&sName=Omnia ... moreI never posted about jet and omnia. And you seem to be quite oversmart guy.let me tell i review those phones about which you children talk.I NEVER POST WITHOUT Having complete information about a product.
Curious, 28 Feb 2010How is the camera ? Is it clear Camera of 5230 performs well keeping 2mp in mind.you get good array of customizations and video recording at 30 fps is awesome.it lacks flash so even night mode will not help much in dark
SR, 28 Feb 2010Omnias are smart, Emir. http://www.gsmarena.com/results.php3?sQuickSearch=yes&sName=Omnia ... moregprs cannot replace gps but to use gps without inbuilt gps antenna you have to download google maps and other services which need data plan.and samsung phones like corby and star have os which is based on java programming and support only java apps.there is no procedure for upgrading this os and samsung never releases any updates or updater software.nokia nonsmart phones have symbian 40 os and they releases updates time to time and have the updater program for tge same.
Rajesh, 28 Feb 2010I wanted to buy 5233.but confused.never i used such touchscreen.is it better than non-touchscr... moreTouchscreen phones really catch attention.everyone should try them and specially when you can get full touch smartphone at 7000inr.when compared to non touch phones the touch ui is more intuitive.as far as 5233 is concerned it is s60v5 smartphone you get lots of fun filled and useful applications on nokia ovi.web browser is good but using opera mini5 or opera10 you get ultra high speed net on the go. Sound output of this phone is low the reason behind not been tagged with xpressmusic.in headphones it is good. You can use external speakers to increase sound output.I WOULD SUGGEST YOU TO GO FOR THIS IF 3G AND GPS ARE NOT IMPORTANT FOR YOU AND OTHERWISE 5230.BUY GET ONE OF THE TWO NOW
Emir, 28 Feb 2010No u have to do that baby!! please check first and than post here!! i dont have to check anyth... moreOmnias are smart, Emir. http://www.gsmarena.com/results.php3?sQuickSearch=yes&sName=Omnia
All of them, including the first one ( http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i900_omnia-2422.php ). Omnia HD has Symbian S60 (same as Nokia 5230) and rest have Windows Mobile.
But you're right, Jet is not smart. http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_s8000_jet-2835.php
I have a question for Tech Guru. You have replied to a query for GPS as "To use gps in 5233 in you need active gprs connection as it doesnt have integrated gps chip.i suggest you to have unlimited gprs plan". Can you explain how can GPRS replace GPS?
And you also have called non smart phones as having non smart "JAVA OS". What is that? Could you explain?
One more thing, non smart phones can be upgraded if the manufacturer releases a new firmware for the handset. The point being - IF the manufacturer releases a new firmware.
And lastly, the above comments have been posted by you (if not all).
I wanted to buy 5233.but confused.never i used such touchscreen.is it better than non-touchscreen while using for quick contact.how is it net & music compare to other.plz anybody help.
