i think 5530 is better.. just a rs 2k difference.. btr camera, wi fi, gud speakers.. but yeah, no 3g nd gps.. but both r pretty useless in india, at least till now..
that's what I've been searching for, big touchscreen, smartphone, 30fps VGA recording & AFFORDABLE, + GPS to be sure, all in all perfect phone :)!!!

At last launched in India, and that also for only Rs 10,000!
The handset will be available in stores from 3rd of september as told by nokia sales guy in cp,new delhi.
The box will contain offcourse the phone, charger, battery,pc studio.maual, sterio headset but NO MEMORY CARD!!! but as the price is 10k,it's ok.
Anonymous, 30 Aug 2009DANG! could've been betterr if it had wifi! :(You have to understand one thing: Nokia cannot let their models canibalise, it would be a bad investment in their logistics and resources. If this one had wi-fi, would of meant 5530 was released in vain as it wouldnt sell because its more expensive. And same result would have been for 5800 as well.
Thats why some of the phones got a kind of features, and some got other features. Each phone adresses to a certain kind of buyers: in our case 5230 doesnt adress to the ones that want wi-fi and better camera.
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970not before december i have already got definite news about it take my word
Razlan, 29 Aug 2009if you already have the 5530 than keep it.The 5230 is also a great phone and under sunlight it... morewell i like 5530 a lot but the big problem is that after few days of using the phone it seems that these 2.9 inches are simply small for me and i think that is because of the resolution cause on n95 8gb which has almost equal size of the display 2.8 everything was big enough but the resolution was 320x240 on lg cookie for example everything is big enough too but there the resolution is 400x240 and the alternatives are this phone and 5800 but the second got many problems in fact i don't use so much wi-fi or gps, neither 3g i just want nokia symbian phone with touchscreen maybe despite all i'll take 5800 if can't wait for 5230 and 10x for you opinion and i wanna ask something for 5230 is it got kinetic scrolling and is it true that it is with mono speaker
bad news guys this will not be available before december whereas 5530 will be available within 1-2 weeks
Anonymous, 28 Aug 2009ok 10x i'll check the topic in fact i took 5530 one day before the announcement of 5230 but in... moreif you already have the 5530 than keep it.The 5230 is also a great phone and under sunlight it did not perform as well as i expected to but it's fine.
No Wifi....very hard ......Looks better but if it could be modified with inclusive of Wifi....thats great....
that 6k will cost u for wi-fi, 3.2 MP cam and loads of on-board applications which is pre-installed in 5800
