Overseer, 20 Dec 2010Ya, pixel*1 is good till now. Have photon c6 too,but it is the best. Will get some more cfw wi... moreTry Photon C6. Pixel*1 makes some compromises in performance in favor of better battery backup.
Photon is fast. You get around 60MB of RAM after restart. It comes with almost zero theme effects. So you will have to add some on your own. Try 'Discord' or 'Glide' and if you want to impress your friends then check out some with particle effects. 'Need for weed' is awesome but it's a bit RAM heavy.
And make sure you don't restore your contacts with the backup option. Use the 'Copy business card' option(in contacts) to backup and retrieve you contacts.

Thanks for your suggestions .
@ cool breeze
you don't need to delete apps. you should have uninstalled apps either by UNINSTALL KING/ KILL ME or by the process SB suggested. you can store as many apps as you can in memory card. but you should not install more than 20 apps in order to avoid slowing of your phone.
btw plz keep at least 10% of your memory card free & NEVER store anuthing in phone memory.
following these simple things you would be surely getting a permanent solution.
i request others also to point out such tips that should be followed for smooth running of the phone.
hi Sb and friends ,i have not opted a hard reset. i deleted around 12 installed apps from memory card. Now the situation is better than before. The installed apps folder is opening now but it takes some time.so i also guess it is the number of installed apps that created the problem. the selection of files to delete was something difficult to do. i will definitely try your suggestions.
Anyways i hope to find a complete solution in future.
Thanks thanks !
@ cool breeze
if all the apps are installed in phone memory then only hard reset will help. but if all the apps are installed in memory card then download & install UNINSTALL KING/ KILL ME app from mobile9.com. open the app & uninstall all apps.
NOT AT ALL. you must maintain 47.9 mb free in D drive. in this case hard reset will be helpful.
lastly a small suggestion....install only the apps you really need & use. also try to keep less folders/subfolders in memory card.
cool breeze , 21 Dec 2010i have x plore app ,dude. It shows 35 mb free ram and o mb free in z drive. Is that enough? Fo... moreWait, don't hard reset yet.
The problem has to do with the number of apps installed. Although I didn't face your problem before but I did notice the fact that more the number of apps installed, more time is needed to open the installed apps folder. So I recommend you first uninstall some unnecessary apps from the menu.
Btw, there is a sweet trick to uninstall apps from the application menu itself (provided it has an icon representing it). Just go to 'organise' option. Now when the icons are movable, just touch the desired application and go to option. There will be an option 'delete'. Select it and then you will see the uninstall wizard.
I recommend you install the latest java runtime. It automatically selects the necessary settings for every java app. Suppose if the app is of 640x360 then there will be no navigation keys but if its of 240x320 then there will be.
[deleted post]Relax guys.... Don't blame Alexy at using the word 'boy'. Yes, I did say once that referring to a person with the word 'boy' gives a feeling of implicating insult, but this time the matter is different.
Let me explain. Suppose I said to a person 'Do you know who I am, boy,' then thats an insult. But if I say, 'Oh boy, that was amazing,' then its not. Alexy was giving an expression like the second sentence above. But I have to admit that he should have added a comma or an exclaimation mark after it, to avoid confusion.
I, in particular, am very careful with grammer. No wonder I don't prefer the language of SMS. Eg, 'I m 2 lt' meaning ' I am too late'. Oh, I kinda sound lame, don't I. Lolz.....

do you have many apps installed on memory card? if yes then remove card & try.
do you have x-plore app? if yes then open D & Z drives from it & check the free memory status of them. it should show 47.9 mb free for D drive & 0 mb free for Z drive. download x-plore from mobile9.com. if there is less memory free, then.....
transfer all files to memory card & do hard reset by dialing *#7370#
try all these only if you are using original fw.
