Anonymous, 29 Oct 2010i think you also need a serious software update. Touch response is amazing that you get quick ... moreI'm using a custom firmware and the touch response is way better anything nokia has offered till now.
Capacitive touch depends on your body's ability to conduct electric current to register a click. And hence even the slightest touch would register a click. Resistive touch OTOH depends on pressure you apply and it will only register a click only if a particular threshold is reached. This threshold is the pressure you need to apply to make two conducting plates to come in contact which each other, only then it registers a click.

Now that was the theory part, now coming to practicals.

You are probably used to resistive touch and you would usually/always apply a particular pressure that's required for a click on resistive touch even while using a capacitive touch. In this case you will not notice any difference in touch response between the two. However if it's the other way around... ie a capacitive user trying out a resistive touch, the difference would be very notable. Capacitive touch does has it's disadvantages as it cannot be used with nails ( problem for girls who have long nails, also a problem when selecting a link from many closely spaced ones) or stylus. You can't even use a screen guard on them, so if the touch screen is not scratch proof you will end up with lots of scratches.

Btw, since you are a vodafone user like me, tell me 'were you able to use ucweb symbian', i am not but now i am thinking of using Vodafone mobile connect access point to check if that works or not. Ucweb has got the best download manager i have ever seen in a browser.

utk, 28 Oct 2010Could be a network related issue. Works fine for me. Posting this comment with opera mini 5.1 beta.Hey guys, now its working. But i am still confused at the reason why it started to work. I mean, before using opera mini symbian, i could connect to net by selecting the 'wap services' option when prompted, for any applications. But in this case, i had to select 'Internet' which never worked with the other applications. How odd!
Anyways, opera mini symbian is way smoother and faster. I was hoping for a symbian version of opera mini to be released and my wish came true.

Touch response is very good for a resistive touch screen. If you are too much worried about touch response then you can also look corby series. raj, 28 Oct 2010thnx dude, but being a beginer i dnt knw ny thng about flashing or updating.can u plz send m... moreThere are 3 different ways for upgrading your phone.
                          1) FOTA (Firmware Over The Air)
                          2) NSU (Nokia Software Updater) and
                          3) Flashing.

Updating through FOTA is probably the safest. However it has it's downsides. It's not a proper upgrade as it only replaces few files. Using NSU our flashing will make your phone feel like brand new.

Updating through NSU is considered by many as the best way for updating their phone. The entire process may take upto 15-30 minutes depending upon your network speed. The process is also a bit risky as an interruption in the update process like a power failure or a network failure will result in a dead phone. A dead phone can only be repaired by flashing.

Flashing is by far the best and safest (if you know what you are doing) method of upgrading. It takes just about 2 minutes to flash a phone. Learning to flash a phone however is a bit tedious process for most users. Like the previous poster said, it requires you to go through a lot of reading work. Anyways I have posted the important steps for flashing a device with custom firmware 6-7 pages back. In that post you will find a link in which a detailed guide for flashing is given. You will also find links for all the softwares required for flashing there. Search google for more flashing guides, go through them and select one which you understand best.

                          Coming to custom firmwares.
Custom or cooked firmwares are much better than original ones. Their advantages over original have already been mentioned in previous pages. Or you can go through various mobile forums.

Some of the custom firmwares available for this device are
Revenge^6, AOV mega mode 27, Xtension^10, Electron^3, AOV elite V28 and Thunderblade^2. Last two are based on latest firmware. I'll recommend Revenge^6.
