Alisha, 01 Jul 2010Thank you But "check 4 updates" option is where ?How to update over the air [OTA]Tutorial 101:
Look for the Application on ur fon named SW update. Open it and it will automatically connect you to Nokia after selecting the right access point. You should be aware that data charges will apply. After the application finished searching, possible sw updates and upgrades will appear on the screen. You just have to choose the latest software and download it. After downloading then install and it will automatically update ur firmware. As simple as that, u don't have to go to Nokia Care or use a pc and ovi suite. If you are to update OTA just make sure your battery is not low or about to get low.
I hope this one helped you! Enjoy v21!
Sounds like lil Sammy doesn't have a good judgment over which is better. Trashing n5233 for a corby pop? I mean there's nothing bad owning a corby at all (i think it's a nice phone but n5233 is way better), it is just that ur making an unfair comparison. I don't really care if you prefer corby rather than n5233 but branding n5233 a bad phone is unacceptable. That only means you don't own a n5233 at all that's why you don't know how cool this phone is. It got even cooler with the new FW. I just updated my FW over the air, and yeah previous comments were all right. Playing Youtube videos on the browser is just so cool and the kinetic scrolling on menu is a lil comfort. About the alphabet to know what letter are you on in the music list, the old fw already has that feature. New apps: Shazam and ovi sync but nokia map was removed.

How can you just compare a feature phone like corby with a smart phone like this. It's utter nonsense as both phones have very little in common apart from the fact that both phones have a touch interface. It's like comparing an e63 with a micromax q3. Fyi dont blame the phone and instead get a good pair of earphones like philips or sennheisers for better audio quality. This is one of the best sounding phones out in the market. Quality eaephones will cost you 1.5k atleast. So please stop bashing and promoting you corby. No one here is bothered as we all know the truth. Smart phones are not all about facebook and twitter though it forms a small part of what they are really capable of doing.

This feature was already available in the previous firmware versions... Anyway glad you have found that out.... Have you checked out youtube with the new browser? It's really great with a new and updated flash player... The full screen button on the flash player really works this time...
dis model is looking very sexy just like bipasa basu.
good handset battrey back up also.
Disgusting phone. Nokia is bad in terms of sound quality. The 5233 model comes with a cheap quality earphone. I put my friend's Micromax Q5 earphone in this phone and the sound became nice. This indicates that Nokia had never worked well in providing good sound quality.
Secondly, its very disappointing to see that a music phone like 5233 provides pathetic music quality. Friends, do not go for this phone. I am selling it very soon. Samsung Corby is much much better than this phone. Specially in Samsung corby pop, you will 720 hours battery standby which is 30 days with amazing music quality.

Alisha, 01 Jul 2010Thank you But "check 4 updates" option is where ?when you will press *#0000# then there go to options and then chec, for updates......
I have just purchased a HTC Legend, but I am a long term Nokia user. I am thinking of swapping the HTC back for a Nokia. Are there any issues with reception with this phone? Or the touch screen? The HTC is very very sensitive, too sensitive and I seem to get very poor reception. Is it worth swapping for the 5233?
Thanks....... "check for updates" but where's this option in my cell ?

Panky, 01 Jul 2010Will the firmware update bring the scrolling in Menu ?
plz confirm ?Ys mate... kinetic scrooling has been introduced in menus as well as the web browser. Other features include
-Auto switch to full screen in web browser
-Updated flash player optimised for youtube videos Now it is actually much fun to watch videos in youtube desktop version with no crashes or sluggishness.
-Kinetic scrolling has been improved and is much responsive and is less laggy.
-Noticed an increase in available free RAM for apps. Now almost 60MB show up in standby. Earlier it used to be 45-50MB.
-No noticeable change in music player but still the improved kinetic scrolling does make scrolling through the music library feel more intuitive and responsive.
-Can't say anything about performance improvements as I have'nt done a full master reset after the update.
All in all, a major and quite useful update. Will keep you all posted with more updates.
Thank you nokia for not forgetting Us... We love you and your products and also for you care and support...
Alisha, 01 Jul 2010What r u saying guyz..........? Firmware update is possible.....???????????? But how............. moreIt's simple... Download ovi suite from nokia wesite. Install it, connect device using usb cable in pc suite mode and then from the tab select software updates from under the tools tab. You'll be connected automatically to nokia website and will be informed about the latest available update. The rest of the procedure is simple and the suite will direct you step by step... So there is no chance for you to goof up...
Hope everything's clear.. Update and enjoy superb web browsing experience and an overall stable software....
