Disgusting phone. Nokia is bad in terms of sound quality. The 5233 model comes with a cheap quality earphone. I put my friend's Micromax Q5 earphone in this phone and the sound became nice. This indicates that Nokia had never worked well in providing good sound quality.
Secondly, its very disappointing to see that a music phone like 5233 provides pathetic music quality. Friends, do not go for this phone. I am selling it very soon. Samsung Corby is much much better than this phone. Specially in Samsung corby pop, you will 720 hours battery standby which is 30 days with amazing music quality.

I have just purchased a HTC Legend, but I am a long term Nokia user. I am thinking of swapping the HTC back for a Nokia. Are there any issues with reception with this phone? Or the touch screen? The HTC is very very sensitive, too sensitive and I seem to get very poor reception. Is it worth swapping for the 5233?

Panky, 01 Jul 2010Will the firmware update bring the scrolling in Menu ? plz confirm ?Ys mate... kinetic scrooling has been introduced in menus as well as the web browser. Other features include
-Auto switch to full screen in web browser
-Updated flash player optimised for youtube videos Now it is actually much fun to watch videos in youtube desktop version with no crashes or sluggishness.
-Kinetic scrolling has been improved and is much responsive and is less laggy.
-Noticed an increase in available free RAM for apps. Now almost 60MB show up in standby. Earlier it used to be 45-50MB.
-No noticeable change in music player but still the improved kinetic scrolling does make scrolling through the music library feel more intuitive and responsive.
-Can't say anything about performance improvements as I have'nt done a full master reset after the update.

All in all, a major and quite useful update. Will keep you all posted with more updates.

Thank you nokia for not forgetting Us... We love you and your products and also for you care and support...

Alisha, 01 Jul 2010What r u saying guyz..........? Firmware update is possible.....???????????? But how............. moreIt's simple... Download ovi suite from nokia wesite. Install it, connect device using usb cable in pc suite mode and then from the tab select software updates from under the tools tab. You'll be connected automatically to nokia website and will be informed about the latest available update. The rest of the procedure is simple and the suite will direct you step by step... Anonymous, 01 Jul 2010Mate, what's the difference between a hard reset (green+red+camera+power key) from the format ... moreWell i think both does the same purpose. It formats the c drive of the phone memory and reflashes the firmware from the rom memory. The *# code is used on a working phone to master reset it to the factory settings. It also clears all the data from the phone memory. The button combination method you stated also serves the same purpose but is only usually done as a last resort with a phone that fails to boot or start up. I have tried using both methods on my phone with similar results. Anyway it is a good thing to do a master reset after a firmware update.
