This phone is better than asha series phones.5233 is definitely a hd smartphone(S60V5) with good PC like features.
Asha craps are not smart phones.They cant multitask.when you are browsing,if a message comes,you have to close the browser in an asha phone.They are just S40.My friend's asha phone cant even play youtube.
NOKIA-500,C5-03,C5-06 etc are better choices than asha craps if u wanna upgrade.

Although I have been using this phone for more than 2.5 years without any problem, I would recommend you to go for asha. Only because it is new and software should be updated.

For almost a year, Nokia had not released any s/w update for this phone. Seems Nokia had discontinued this handset & nobody should buy this phone anymore as in this price range much better options are available.
