Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970hello ashish ji, i have bought this set 2 weeks ago. the set is very attractive and lightweight.it will be best for music lovers. the sound quality is best. It plays almost all audio formats but not mp4 video.(you can play 3gp video format, so need to convert). Another plus point is its resolution(320x240) and colors(16M) are excellent.
But, if you are fond of using videos and capturing photos, then it may not support you because the video and images quality are NOT good.
But if you have options of nokia 5220 XM and nokia 5310 XM, you can go for nokia 5310 XM.
Many users have posted the restarting problem of this set, but i have NOT got this problem. Till now, it is working excellently :)
Kyomma, 21 Nov 2008Nokia 5310's earfon has built-in Music Controls. But it has no Volume Control. Try N95 earp... moreI have this phone for about 1 month. It is a great music phone. Mine has v07.01 type 303 with code 0564418. Please someone tell me if I upgrade to v08.32 what improvement will I get?
just like 'pocket' go through a different phone every 3 months or so, but with this phone i am finding it had to let go. like all the features on it, no short falls, play music on this practically all day (for like 6-8 hours)
please help me, i don´´t know wich phone can I buy, the 6500 or the 5310, bot of them are pretty and have good qualities, but i saw some comments that scares me. please somebody guide me to choose the correct.
I wanna know what kind of mp4 video format the phone supports. Looks really rad. Wanna have one for Christmas.
so good to have it but too low but its sound too low to listen...but still m still enjoying it...maybe u can maximize the speaker of the phone..
I've always been a fan of the upper end boutique phones and also go thru phones roughly every 2-3 months. I have to admit although I ended up with the Nokia 5310 back in March 08 as a backup emergency unit and it's managed to become my main day to day phone.
Of course it's each to their own, but while I love my top end gadgets, when it comes to phones I like them to be as small and light as possible and happy to forgo a lot of the features jammed into phones these days. Convergence devices are often too big for side pockets and too delicate to throw into a backpack when on the move; to date I have yet to see a phone camera that reacts as quick as I want it to (and thus I carry around a pocket camera anyway).
One thing I can leave at home now is my MP3 player as the Nokia 5310's music player is excellent.
The dedicated music buttons on the left hand side allow me to access my music straight away rather than having to go into the phone's menu. Sound quality is fantastic thru a decent set of headphones either thru the 3.5mm jack or via bluetooth. The inbuilt speaker is nice and loud for what it is and makes for nice mp3 ringtones. Call quality is quite crisp as well although the mouthpiece speaker should probably be moved as it rubs against the cheek and can be muffled.
Build quality of the phone is great- it's incredibly light and very slim but feels good and firm in the hand. It's durable and takes a beating when dropped and thrown around.
Because its a Nokia it's pretty easy to work out all the menus and functionality- Nokia have always been well known for their ease of use and you definitely don't need to read the manual to get thru most of the functions.
Admittedly, the camera is pretty crap; both slow to react and the image quality is poor. That being said, I've had that sort of experience with all camera phones to date (including the every gushed about N95) so I really didn't care about that.
THe 5310 interfaces nicely with the Nokia PC suite to my laptop so managing contacts, media and the like has been a breeze.
Accessing the micro sd card is annoying because it is under the battery- the insertion and removal of the sim card is also a lil' dodgey so it's probably not the best choice if you're frequently swapping sim cards.
For what I need, its been awesome. As far as general use though, I can barely fault it. Very rarely crashes if at all,it works as a phone should. Sure it's no fashion accessory and you wouldn't boast about it at parties, but it wins kudos for reliability, functionality and build quality. And its music player is definitely the best i've seen so far.
At 199 bucks AUS on a prepaid contract, it's very cheap for what it can do. It's not the phone for you if you are looking for a convergence device (I always laugh at how every one of these phone profiles has someone whinging about how it doesn't have wifi or an 8 megapixel camera or the ability to remote control an Audi TT even if the phone is low end job) of if you are looking to impress with the latest and greatest (I think teenaged kids, housewives and the odd senior citizen is sporting flashier phones than I these days!) but for a good, robust phone that does the job, I rate it.
Anonymous, 01 Dec 2008you can go to Nokia Accessories there look for MU-44(if not mistaken) there got a compatible ,... moreIt does not support 8GB micro sd cards. For the kind information of all of u out there and GSMArena team, this fone supports 4GB micro cards.I bought it frm a NOKIA Priority Dealer in Patna (BIHAR) INDIA at a price of Rs. 10,840 (USD$260 approx.) on December 26,2007.
Its been nearly a year 4 me using this fone.I've no complains abt this fone. Its a gr8 handset.
U've got a 3.5mm socket 4 expanding the music at the next level.I connect this "small beast of music" (NOKIA 5310 Xpress Music) 2 my 5.1 speaker system to enjoy the party and it easily handles the load. And one more thing these days its price is Rs.8,300 (USD$1=Rs.45).

Hey music lovers .Attention! The NOKIA 5310 is a music fone but its sound is too low when u place it anywhere coz its speakers are on the back,it has to be put upside down so that its sound gets loud. Its sound in its handsfree is nice, loud n effective .Listerning music in its handsfree is good.
