yes yes ur exactly right sony and ericsson married together to make the baby phones called " s.e. " and now those baby phones still talk about mp3s and mega bass for many years ... in most s.e. phones the only thing that had been changed is its design (although most look like remote control units for me ... i really respect sony televisions and home stereos thats some other story ...) if mega bass is such an option why is it still hanging around in equalizer preset settings ... im not so blinded when choosing a good phone so those nokias are better for me ... i gave up s.e. but if they improve in the future i might go start buying em again ...
On paper this phone is a perfect choise for me. I've been waiting for one like this! I still have to try it out when it comes to stores but I'm pretty sure I'll replace my old 6230 and my 512Mb MP3 player with this candy bar.
if the price not more than USD 200, this phone can be worth it, happy Ramadhan/Fasting month.
Don't worry, se will come up with a better phone than this, one day. When it happens I'll be a se fan too. In the meantime I'm a nokia fan ;)
All ye Sony Ericcson Walkman series fans..ponder over this..
You are being duped into paying a premium on a badge by Sony. Just take a break from your honeymoon with walkman phones and just have a one night stand with a nokia phone (ex: 6300, 6131). No, I am not even asking ye all to try out the nokia music express phones.
Light of knowledge will dawn on you. Nokia's music function is better than Sony's overhyped W badge.
the only reason why s.e. never wanted to put all those features packed in nokia phones is that they only wanted to make more money making the firmware of every s.e. walkman phone the same . its really good that nokia introduced symbian's which gives the users a better chance to configure and personalize there phones in a better way ... and symbian's support many applications ... actually than those old sony e. w. firmware crap the nokia's symbian features dominates the world ... and when it comes to music nokia got the upper hand cuz it got symbian by there side but not s.e. so that they will always use the same kind of options in there new phones just to make more money ... even motorolas are starting to make history together with linux mobile based o/s ... why iz it that sony ericssons are still sticking to the old firmwares and designs ... i even saw samsung , lg , lenovo , panasonic & simens getting involved in s60 devices but whats wrong with s.e. where r u s.e. why are u still sticking to the old type of firmwares why u dont wanna make new stuff and give users of s.e. phones a better experience why ur still playing the same recordings about ur mega bass and mp3 ... (5700 xm also plays wma now) why am i asking all those from our dear readers lol ? ...
I really wonder if either SonyEricsson or Nokia cares about you all. They are just money making machines.
If they really care about the consumer they would have made some descent phones. Not half the good features in this phone and the other good features in that phone..
They just want your money..
wake up and smell the coffee..
this phone should hit the price of 200 USD down to 160-170 just like 5300 did.. or else I'll just upgrade to 5700..
how can u say nokia never beat up the sony e. walkman stuff the n series music editions are good results of nokia's music phones (such as n70 music edition etc.) i can see n series music phones in almost every music lovers hand but sony ericssons i see only two or three ppl holding those in a bus stop once a week thats it ... i dont think s.e. walkman series phones can get near those and now they are way too far left behind with the new xpress music series of nokia ... what people dont like the most about s.e. walkman series phones is that almost every phone comes with the same firmware ... and less support for application and games etc. ...
nokia is making music phone since 4rt quarter of 2001.. its nokia 5510 followed by nokia 3300 in 2003.. walkman phone only appeared in 1st quarter of 2004.. you should check your history first before commenting..
but if u look close its the sony e. walkman series phones which looks like remote controls not the xpress music phones ... all the square sony e.'s reminds me of my all time fav. cartoon sponge bob square pants ha ha ha ... sony e. walkman fans are now running out of hope looking at the xpress music series by nokia now they are starting run around talking crap making many false stories lol ...
@ ajay -
actually bro the 5700 xm comes with more options than u have mentioned and its far more better than the 6300 ... let me tell u some of em ...

5700 got two way stereo speakers
5700 got 35 MB of user memory 64
MB SDRAM , 128 MB ROM ARM 11 &
369 MHz CPU
those are more advance options in 5700

now u got the difference between the two

Wat else could you ask for??
Really well done NOKIA...
hey 5700 itself costs only around Rs.12k with symbian OS, series 60 interface and an dedicated audio chip.. will this be so expensive?? it is very similar to 6300 in specs, except it has a exclusive 3.5mm jack.. i expected a price around 10k.. watsay?
new 5700 & 5610 & 5310 takes the xpress music series to the top and burns down the fake sony ericsson walkman series to the ground ... these three phones shows u how far nokia can go for a music phone ... u will definitely feel the difference when using one of em ... i was into samsung for this long i used sony ericssons i used motorolas i used lg's but none of those phones can get near my nokia 5700 xpress music sound quality cuz its truely a master piece of music ... peace out ... and long live the xpress music series ...
