5530issue, 30 Apr 2010my phone will not turn on now? when charger is plugged in i push the on button and it vibrates... moreI also faced the same problem a month ago. I removed the batter for about 15 min and put it back but still it didn't work. Then i removed the memory card but still the phone vibrated while pressing the power button but doesn't start at all.
I had faced this problem after trying to update to v20 usin NSU. But to my suprise the update was successful but still it didn't work. So i showed the mobile to the Nokia Care Center and in reply they said that the handset was damaged. As a result they replaced in with a new one.
So my suggestion to you is that go to the nokia care center and show your mobile to them.
Nuwan, 30 Apr 2010Dear xplit,
It's really strange why your phone memory has been so dynamic...! Because it's ... morethanks for the reply man. i appreciate that. by the way i have not transferred any file from bluetooth and haven't installed/removed any app/themes for nearly a month now. and the internal memory is still changing. yesterday afternoon it was 43.5mb and right now 47.6mb. i'm sure about it but some of the internal memory are being used as ram??? may be.like pag file in computer. anyway not bad.
and i totally agree with u on nokia's apps being installed on internal memory without asking us where to install it. app like ovi maps which take huge chunks of internal memory should be installed on memory card not in internal memory card. it takes about 10mb of internal memory i think. so nokia should really think about this.
5530 :), 29 Apr 2010How do I turn off the Auto Rotate?just hit it with a big stone
i'm really surprised to see too many complain about this phone lately. i'm using this for around 5 months now i've never faced any problem on it especially after firmware update. it is certainly by far best mobile phone i've ever used. i was using N82 before this for about 2 years that was too awesome phone. i never had any problem with that as well.i wanted to use touchscreen phone so i sold N82 for this 5530 and i don't have any regret about it.
@Django saying that its sound quality is very poor, sounded like a transistor radio. how can u say that i'm not sure. this is xpressmusic flagship mobile form nokia and is one of the best music quality phone from nokia. u can check gsmarena review for this as well. i really recommend u to update ur phone firmware & see the result for ur self.
and i must comment on @plizar view. in his own words "software included:very poor. Other nokia less expensive phones have best software (agenda, alarm and so on). Very bad connectivity to the mobile network, very poor the sound quality. Good the wireless.
Buy another phone"
what is that? helloo excuse me!!!!! this is SMART PHONE. there are thousand and thousand of free/shareware application out there which can be downloaded. by the way the "softwares" ur talking about like alarm and agenda are there if u have checked ur mobile. this features are available even on basic nokia mobile like nokia 1100.
Erick B, 28 Apr 2010I just updated my phone to V20.0.080. It made it actually faster! Different handling on the co... moreDear Erick,
Go to Menu - Settings - Personal - Profiles - (Select the profile you're using now.. And click options and select - Personalize)
You'll see a plenty of customizations there... Select the level you want in 'Key tone' feature... (either level 1, level 2 or level 3) and save it.. That'll solve your problem...
cyber-shot under dog, 28 Apr 2010YEAH! man ahahah nice another audiophile. . senheisers are good, but their price are just not ... moreDear cyber-shot under dog,
Thank you very much brother... I think I would buy one of those you've mentioned... If I ask you what would be best suited for me among those two considering my requirements below.. Could you please tell me which one I should go for..?
1) I listen to all kind of music but Hip-hop, R&B would be my best choices... So I need to feel considerable amount of bass in my ear.. Not over powered bass but just as the song delivers it...
2) I like alternative rock too, (blue, techno too) so I think middle range and trebles also should be there fair enough... Stereo cross talk is something I really appreciate...
3) Look of a headset is not that important to me, but it must go in to my ear so that it'll seal the environment sounds disturbing my experience... And I don't like too much long wires around my neck and all...! So shorter cable is preferred... And BLACK color is the only color I want..
I personally think I should go for mdr-e12LP but I don't know whether it suits for my Audio quality requirements... Please comments on this matter... Thanks...
5530 in egypt, 28 Apr 2010my question is i found in mobile 9 a sis file for a lide unlock of the screen do u examnie so... moreDear 5530 in egypt,
Yes.. You're correct.. That software can do the locking, unlocking without making you to use the unlock key... But there are so many options and customizations and you should be able to be patient to discover them all and get exactly what you want..
And I strongly suggest you to read the user comments under the download before you're going to install it.. If most of them are OK, then you can proceed with the installation..
I used that software for two three weeks but now not that interested due to several reasons... Eating lots of RAM is one of them...
my phone will not turn on now? when charger is plugged in i push the on button and it vibrates but the screen wont come on. whats going on mr know it all
shahrukh, 28 Apr 2010tnx for giiving me ur time but the problem is not solved and i am going to sell my mobile..........Dear shahrukh,
I'm sorry brother.. That's your decision... Hope you'll have a better choice next time.. Good luck dude...
shariq, 28 Apr 2010hii every1 i recebtly perchased new nokia 5530 it's superb everything is perfect. i configured... moreDear shariq,
You can install Opera mobile and you can visit your mail accounts using that web browser just like you do in your PC.. and you can view and download the attachment just the usual way...!
Jett, 28 Apr 2010oh! is that so.. so i really need to do it before i bring my phone for an update.
how i wish ... moreDear Jett,
For your first questions I've already answered for someone else.. I think it'll be enough...
And yeah... You're talking about 'Escalado photo viewer' right....? That's cool but takes a long time to make the photo cache... If you've got thousands of images, then it'll take like 15-30 minutes to make all of them in to it's cache... However after that, everything is fine..
But I don't personally think that application is greater than 'Resco Photo viewer'...! Resco is a complete package which also including few photo editing options... Zooming is excellent in Resco compared to Escalado...
And if you've tried 'Nokia Photo Browser' then that's the coolest photo browser for me... It doesn't require a hacked phone so even now you can download and try that from Nokia beta labs... It also has a very cool zooming feature.. When you press and hold a spot of the picture it'll zoom and it's really cool...!
Every software you mentioned are great... I've got all of them installed in my mobile.. You can find everything from www.dotsis.com...
So far I couldn't find a voice changer application... There should be one.. But I couldn't find...
xplit, 28 Apr 2010can anyone confirm this? after firmware update, its phone memory has become dynamic. i've no i... moreDear xplit,
It's really strange why your phone memory has been so dynamic...! Because it's not so... May be you're transferring some bluetooth files in to your mobile and you may have deleted the bluetooth files from inbox after saving them to the memory card... As default inbox is situated in phone memory, when you delete messages you'll gain a free space.. Specially when you delete Bluetooth messages which are often larger, then that free space will be significant... I think that's what has happened... (Or may be you've cleared the internet cache from the browser or something..)
Hei.. I'm telling you... Those software updates which can be downloaded from Nokia... They directly will be installed to the phone memory without asking where to install.. (I also am so angry with Nokia for this..) There are updates that should be installed in phone memory (like python runtime or flash) but OVI store or OVI maps... Or even mail for exchange.. Nobody whats them in phone memory as they eat lot of space...
So you're correct... My suggestion is, if you really don't intend to use those, don't get those updates.. Flash, python runtime are really essential so you may get those.. (I didn't install mail for exchange for an example... Because I don't use it..)
And it's true.. OVI store separate installation ate lots of space and when we update the firmware, it was there and we've got more free memory...!
I'm glad to hear you liked digia web... But Opera mobile also should work fine...
Anonymous, 27 Apr 2010Brother,
I've read your comment to jett regarding hacking...so,for example i will hack now an... moreDear Anonymous friend,
No brother... Once you update your firmware 'hacking' will be gone.. But there is a great chance the software you installed will be still preserved... That's why I'm telling you, before you update the firmware install the essential software which requires hacking... Otherwise you'll regret...
For your second question.. Yeah... I've already tried 360ting player and I've already commented about it a long ago in this GSMarena... It's indeed a great player and now it has become my favorite...
** 10 band equalizer (with amazing frequency response)
** i-phone like very nice kinetic optimized interface
** Automated artist photo, lyrics download
** So many audio effects
** Bass, loudness, stereo improvements
** Very very stable (very rarely crashes...)
** Home screen mini player which can be dragged and moved..
** It's still in beta stage so there may be bugs.
** Eats a huge amount of RAM... That means you must have at least 20 MB free RAM memory for this one... And if you do multi tasking a lot, there's a tendency to restart the phone too..
** Due to the use of high amount of RAM, the battery drains so fast... (Eg: If I can listen to 5 hours of Music using default Music player, from that battery I can listen only 2 or 3 hours using 360ting player...!)
** Skin is not very customizable as TTpod
** Automated artist photo and lyrics downloads are not accurate... Often there are mistakes...
** Home screen Mini Player has stability problems and less functionality
However overall I like this player due to it's excellent frequency response and i-phone Music player like interface... May be with the final version, this will become a fantastic player... But even for now, I'm totally happy with this one..
But your phone MUST BE HACKED in order to install this player... Signing will not be helpful because I tried in my 5800 and didn't work... (can be installed But doesn't open...)
