Anonymous, 02 Jan 2010hey i got the same problem on nokia 5530. i just bought it dec 12 '09. after 2 weeks of using,... moreI for one am a SE loyal user (till now) I used to own a k800i and a g70o, I love how SE lasted for days with normal usage believe me it's a wonder, and it charges at a very short time. Unlike the 5530 it lasted for a day and charges at a very long time. That's why my name is Cyber-shot Under dog. But I trade it off (same reason it's hot and sexy phone) plus it gives me wi-fi so I can log into my myspace, friendster and facebook anytime I want, plus I can chat even in the comfort room whenever I'm depositing, plus the stereo speaker is another welcome bonus, and the touch screen functionality (but I liked hardware buttons better). But most of all I missed the Sony's XMB menu. . kinda wished if there was Nokia Ericsson mobile phone

Dear csud mobile version,
I have to agree with you BECAUSE I was a proud owner of Nokia 5... moreWell higher stereo crosstalk, means better stereo output (1 example is how the output of the sounds of each side sounds for example your left ear buds play chikitik chikitak and your right Boom boom it measures how clean it'll be, if the low stereo crosstalk is low there'll be a low boom boom on your right earbuds something like that) But woah, the 5220 has a far better frequency response than the 5530, noise level seems higher too, but I wonder why the stereo crosstalk is lower. . .

I don't really know whether it's free or paid software. But the file I got from the link you've provided... It says "cracked version" that means it should be a paid software though due to the reason it's cracked by someone, we can use it for free...
However it's a very simple fun software like a screen saver so better be a freeware... On the other hand it looks like a real finger print reader... Cool application anyway...
Has anyone found any positive answer for Adobe reader (touch) and Divx player (touch)...? Please share with us... (Both above for S60 3rd edition devices, I have... But 5th edition is the matter here...!)

myk, 02 Jan 2010ok thanks nuwan :)

why is it my phone reboots?
even though i updated its softwa... moreDear myk,
No friend... If you've updated to the newest firmware (20.0.080) then it's very strange if your phone reboots that much.
Kindly check settings - phone - phone management - Device update whether you've correctly updated to the above version or you still have the previous version.
(According to your description I get the feeling that your update has not been successful...)
Otherwise there may be some problem with applications you've installed recently... Did you notice any particular program which should be the course of the reboots...? Something like when you try to open that software, the phone reboots...? Then try uninstalling that software...
Else there may be an error with your phone memory.. Normally available free phone memory is very important in order to software to run properly though I don't know why it is exactly... (May be symbian OS is also creating some sort of a virtual memory - as in windows or swap file - as in Linux) Try cleaning your phone memory by removing unnecessary bluetooth messages, software etc...
The last reason I can think of is, there may be a hardware fault... In that case, you can't do anything about it and you're supposed to go to the nearest nokia care center to claim for the warranty... (Before that please check whether you have the genuine battery in your phone, you're charging using the genuine charger and the contacts between the battery and your phone is solid and ok...)
And for your information,
I listen to music everyday and make phone calls, type sms so often... And I run several programs simultaneously too... Music player is always doing it's job at the background, and I'm using google maps, surfing net using wifi etc... (My 4 GB memory card is almost full.. And free space of phone memory is only 40 MB) And I have installed a lot of software in this.. (May be more than 30 software.. Useful stuff as well as garbage...) And I've hacked the phone already..
Briefly I have done almost everything to this phone... (And I'm not even using it very carefully... Thanks to it's solid look, I always feel throwing it in to my bed putting it on my desk carelessly would not do any harm... And so far, no harm...!)
So after all, I don't have any sort of a reboot trouble or anything like that... (Of course after my firmware update...)
I told all above information just to let you know that, if it hangs or reboots.... then there must be something wrong... Good luck brother..
i hope that there will be a new version implementing multitouch(its the only thing missing in there

Anonymous, 02 Jan 2010is the finger print scanner only for 5800? how about in 5530?? thanks
Please read comments and posts here... We write these all for you.. I wrote "almost all the applications which support 5800 should support 5530 as well" few posts ago...
Now this anonymous friend is asking whether this finger print application is only for 5800.. We don't have to say that it will surely work on 5530 too...
Please for god's sake.. Have some common sense...!
is the finger print scanner only for 5800? how about in 5530?? thanks
Nikko, 02 Jan 2010Yea same here. I updated mine since the day that i bought this phone. :]

Thanks for your link to 'Finger print scanner'... I installed the application right away... Cool fun application.. Thanks again...
@Nuwan - I forgot about ebay. Thanks alot. Imma look the prices there. :D
myk, 01 Jan 2010i think guys you have to switch your old version to the newest. like what i did.

I'm sorry I can't help you on that because I'm from a different country... I'm from Sri Lanka... (That beautiful Paradise...!)
However I can suggest you an ebay seller who sold me very good headsets which I'm still using without problem.. They are of course cheaper and performance is outstanding for that price...
But I will not recommend online business for you if you're not aware of things...
csud mobile version, 01 Jan 2010thanks guys ill check out and see wht kind of audio accesories is most fit for me.. The 5530 h... more
Dear csud mobile version,
I have to agree with you BECAUSE I was a proud owner of Nokia 5220 Xpress Music before I bought this phone...!
And now my mother using that phone... Just because I didn't want it to go away from my sight...! (Do you believe how much that tiny little phone served me...? More than 700 hours of talking within 1 year... No of music hours is numerous...!)
So I know what you say is true.. Because I checked it by myself... Nokia 5220 Xpress Music wins against Nokia 5530 Xpress Music (Or any other Music Xpress phone...!) in terms of crispy sound...!
But the Audio check results in GSMarena are not showing that clearly so I was wondering what is the reason...? The frequency response, THD, Noise level, dynamic range values are pretty much similar in both 5220 and 5530... So it was very hard for me to believe my ears against the standard test results here..! And then I found out it is nothing but "Stereo Cross Talk"
Nokia 5220 has a considerably low value for Stereo cross talk while 5530 has a very high value (Which is considered to be better)
But in terms of Music Clarity and Cristal clear sounds now my suggestion is the stereo cross talk value should not be always higher.. It should be high but very high values are also not good...! That was my personal conclusion... Please correct me if I'm wrong... Because I'm not a professional in this subject and I only say which my ears tell me to say...!
However on the other hand, I can easily adjust 8 band equalizer as I prefer (I've done it already) in 5530 so now I get very close and competitive sound output as 5220...! (My mother is always very proud when I say her simple phone - 5220 - has better music than my sophisticated sexy phone...!)
More comments please...!
Hennessy, 01 Jan 2010try SENNHEISER headphones. I promise you, they're the best there is!
regarding this phone, ... more
Yes.. You're correct... Sennheiser is one of the best... (May be the best of all) but it's not as cheap as EP 630...! If I consider value plus performance, I will go for EP 630...
And specially I suggested that to my friend Cyber-shot under dog because he said he even is satisfactory with Nokia own headset..! That means he wouldn't notice very big difference between Sennheiser and EP 630. Then he will regret of buying an expensive headset which is more than what he needs...
What do you think my friend Cyber-Shot under dog...?
Sannheiser is perfect if you are a HARD CORE KILLING MUSIC LOVER...! If you are only HARD CORE MUSIC LOVER then Creative EP 630 would be sufficient... If you are just a music lover... Then the own Nokia headset is enough...!
What do you say people...? We want more comments here....!
Nikko, 01 Jan 2010To all Nokia 5530 XM Owners, Happy New Year.
@Nuwan - Where can I buy those Headsets? I thi... more
I'm from Sri Lanka and you're from Philippine so even if I tell you the store you wouldn't be able to buy it anyway...
However if you are an ebay member (who knows about ebay deals and how to do buy things from ebay safely...) then I can recommend you one seller who sold me very good (and fairly cheap) ear buds... But if you are new to ebay or paypal.. Then I don't recommend that...!
