Dear all friends in India,
I don't know what the hell is wrong with Nokia India... I hear... moreYep thats good to hear that you are enjoying your phone, BUT not jealous, happy for it.
More than willing to visit the island but we dont get warranty if purchased outside the country, the very reason why I am still not holding the phone in my hand. Else there were offers in US for as low as 170 USD.. in DELLs website ( not just some crap website ) just 8K INR... and my friends were also coming at the same time too. Its just for the warranty thats holding me still.
Which 1 is the better 5530 or 5800. I Think 5800 becoz itz features r more powerfull.

Dear all friends in India,
I don't know what the hell is wrong with Nokia India... I heard they want to sell all the 5800 s left and after that they are going to sell 5530. (Because they - I mean Nokia India - are too afraid that after the arrival of 5530, nobody will buy 5800...! Well.. I don't know for sure.. I saw that type of comments in this site...)
Because in Sri Lanka this phone was available since September 2009. (A month after the phone was released)
These days I've installed "Crickinfo" widget in my 5530 and receiving live updates of Sri Lanka - India cricket match every 10 seconds...! Jealous...?
Why don't you guys come visit our Island and buy the phone too...!
By the way, Happy Christmas for all...
Kns, 24 Dec 2009The sunlight legiblty problem is due to the touchscreen layer.. So there is no solution for it... moreHey Guys,
Is it really launched in India, I mean are the phones physically available at the stores now. I see it as "coming soon" still in the Nokia India website. Is it really out there close to me. Hard to believe.
NPD said its going to get released at a very low price. But all the websites also say its 14k. This is the same price that came in the newspapers in August when Nokia announced these phones in India and it was also mentioned early 2010. So looks like they are standing by their words in all means. Its just we that kept hoping it will be released each month everyweek.
The sunlight legiblty problem is due to the touchscreen layer.. So there is no solution for it..
is the price really 14k? I wonder why nokia has priced this higher than 5800..

To whom who know about MMS, I wanted to know, it is possible to download a MMS using the WIFI connection, or you'll still need the GPRS to make it work since 5530 doesn't have 3G onboard. This question is just for my and everyone else who wondered about it. I'll still buy it next month tho. ;)
Thank you in advance.
P.s Anyone know where can I get a hard-silicon-case for 5530 in Shah Alam - KL (Malaysia) area?
How can I save my contacts (phonebook entries) in Memory card? I can't even move existing entries from Phone or SIM memory to external memory card.
Please anyone can help me. Email me at sakyasujan(at)gmail(dot)com
@HBW - The phone is really great. Good music, good video playback, and alot more. I suggest you buy one. Oh and thank your for greeting me. ^__^
@Nuwan - My GPRS Connection is on priority 1. But i will try to go to a hotspot to set the WLAN to priority 1. Thanks alot ^__^

About direct sunlight problem... I don't have any solution for that and I doubt ... morehi,
The soloution of the problem for the daylight is, just to remove the plastic cover of your phone screen and hopefully it will be fine.
anyway i am loving too my 5530 its fine with me
Nuwan, 22 Dec 2009 Dear Sun, I think most of the people including you, are shouting about 5800 here.. Tellin... morethats truth and I agrre with you, people expect a better battery but, for exemple, a handy cam the battery last 2 hours a computer last 1.5 hours how can you expect that a devise that is phone, computer smartphone, video camera, camera, calculator , chronometro, voice recorder, iphod(walkman) radio, etc I think is fair that it last almost 2 days..... but people is never satisfied with a devise that cost less than a good 12 mpix cam, that you never carry with you, happy xmas friend

Nikko, 23 Dec 2009@Nuwan - About the Opera Mobile 10 Beta 2, how can i set it using WLAN connection only? I thin... more
You're welcome brother...
Regarding your problem about GPRS connectivity... I think following will be helpful.
Go to settings then Connectivity - Destinations
In Internet see how many Access points are defined...
Probably for you there will be 2 or more. (One of them is for GPRS)
If you don't want GPRS anymore... Just Delete that access point from your phone right away...
Or else, if you want to keep it in case of an urgency, but you'll always use wifi (WLAN) the set the priority to WLAN Connection and give GPRS a lower priority...
I think Opera mobile searches for the priority connection and simply use that... If you set WLAN to be the 1st in priority list, Opera should use that accordingly...
For me, I have deleted all the other access points (GPRS, WAP etc..) and kept my Wifi connection only... Because I don't want to have a surprise bill at the end of the month... (I get wifi for free at my office and that connection is really fast)
Hope this will help... Good luck brother...
TJ, 23 Dec 2009Hey Nuwan,
Got a few questions:
I've read in several reviews that when under direct sunlig... more
About direct sunlight problem... I don't have any solution for that and I doubt whether anybody has one.
I'm from a tropical country (Sri Lanka) where the sun is directly above us, I do face trouble when I look at my phone's screen under that sun light..
Believe me... I can't see anything...!
I try followings..
1) Cover the screen from direct sun light using my hand and read the screen
2) Go to a shelter (probably a tree) and read
This may disappoint you a lot.. But I'm telling the truth... This screen is worse in direct sun light...
However just keep in mind, there are lots of Nokia phones having this same problem... So if you try another Nokia instead of this, just ensure whether it's good in day light...
Also keep in mind... At darker places and specially at night... (Low light conditions) the phones screen is very very beautiful and colorful... You'll be amazed by the resolution and all...
As for your second question about touchscreen sensitivity...
To be honest I personally did not experience 5800 a lot in order to compare the touch screen... But all the reviews about these two phones clearly states that the touch screen sensitivity has been greatly improved... All of them can't be wrong... Right...?
Besides one of my frieds who used 5800 once reviewed on my 5530 and confirmed that... (Exactly what he said was "This is amazing... I feel a big difference in touch response...")
If you still want to think "all the professional reviews and user reviews are wrong..." that's up to you friend...
For me... I love this phone and surely will use it for a long time... (Until someone steals it from me...!)
Good luck brother...
